Getting blacker...

I've always thought that the small details can greatly improve the appearance of a bike. One of the things that bugged me on my R1200RS (my dedicated 2 up & touring machine) is the way that the passenger pegs, brackets, and foot controls stood out from the rest of the frame...

So, I had them powder coated a semi-gloss black to match the frame, and they blended in and seemed to disappear...

As you can see, I also had the exhaust connector cover powder coated, and the wheels were previously powder coated gloss black after some damage to the front wheel...

Unfortunately, the rubber portion of the pegs is riveted onto the pegs, so they are not reusable, but BMW has a threaded replacement kit, so I am happy that I had the pegs also powder coated to complete the job...

Blue like the Fairing might also have been a good choice?

It bugs me also and I've thought about doing the passenger peg holder if I find a powder coat shop.
I would probably do the exhaust collector cover also.

Will you repaint the bike this winter?

Nice! Completely changes the whole look of the bike.

LOL... that's good one Lee! That'd just be more for you to detail every morning.

Re: Getting blacker...

Nice Charles. Much better. I did that with my KS and with my current MTS. Far better...should have been that way from the manufacturers!

I wonder if black ceramic exhaust coating lasts long enough to stay looking good?

Re: Getting blacker...

Looks great Charlie. I did the same on our S. It's a little hard to see but that's the point. Before the peg brackets were painted black they stood out like a sore thumb.
