Ice Light

Today I was riding in central Victoria in very inclement weather (for Australia) and noticed the OAT at 9.5 C & slowly dropping away. The gauge got to 4.5 C and sat there for 30 minutes then dropped to 2.5 C when the ice light stated flashing. A mate on a Kawasaki H2 SE had his ice light come on at 3 C.

My heated grips were almost useless on high, not nearly as good as my old K1200S.

Anyone else see this light in Oz ?

Re: Ice Light

Think some other Mexican saw the ice warning year or two ago.

This shit never happens in the NT.

Re: Ice Light

The ❄️ symbol appears at 4C. I have seen it many times on my K bikes when travelling through Walcha in winter. It is designed to warn you about the danger of black ice on the road.

How's your mate like his Kawasaki H2SX? It's on my want to buy list but the price of admission, 22k, is to high for my budget :-(

Re: Ice Light

Can’t say I’ve seen it yet, where were you riding? I was around Bendigo Thursday.
I gave up on my heated grips and returned to some old favourite gloves, toasty warm fingers reappeared 😊
