Question Helmet Cleaning- How often?

I know everyone cleans the bugs off the visor regularly and maybe even cleans the outershell, but I am wondering how often people really take the interior fabric pieces out, and wash them, take the visor off, and wash everything thoroughly with soap and water, etc.?

Re: Helmet Cleaning- How often?

I always wear a skull cap. Really dislike a dirty smelly helmet. Usually only have to clean cheek pads once a year.

Re: Helmet Cleaning- How often?

Clean?, Really? Why?

Helmet: I clean inside 2 or 3 times per year, with Woolite, only I remove the visor.

Visor: I remove and clean always on trip, with clean water, every time I stop to fuel

My head: Sometimes...

Re: Helmet Cleaning- How often?

just scowered the earth for a full replacement set of pads and liners for my Schuberth C3. After finding all of the parts it is a BRAND NEW helmet you don't realize how much the pads loosen up over time.

Re: Helmet Cleaning- How often?

Like Bruce, I wear a skull cap to stop sweat transferring into liner. I clean mine after every ride and occasionally use Motorex helmet cleaning solution to spray interior and freshen it up as well as deodorise
After a couple of years it's a good idea to replace the cheek pads, as they wear out and increase helmet movement.
Both my visors, tinted internal and clear external, get cleaned multiple times during a ride
