Oil Level

'15 K1300s MS. Went for a 2 hour ride, came home, put in on the center stand on level driveway, let it idle for about 2 to 3 minutes. Shut her off. Site tube was at minimum (eye level). Slowly added about 1/3 of a quart too maybe a half. Watched it slowly rise to max. Now it appears to be slightly above the max. I've read that since it's a dry sump and the tank is just that, a holding tank. Still worry though. Should I drain a little out using the site tube?

Re: Oil Level

As far as the oil level being a little over the max line is no big deal. The big deal would be if you had over filled it and it was to over flow when it was hot.

And typically if it was over full it is not going to over flow while riding - it would over flow when you shut it down - but of course not a good thing.

Re: Oil Level

If was at min and you added a half quart it should be just at the max level. Ride it again and recheck. If it's slightly over max line it is not a problem.
