Three friends, three cool cars and Saturday breakfast

Since 1977, on Saturday mornings two friends, Travis and Gary, and myself have been getting together for breakfast. That's a very longtime and a lot of coffee, bacon and eggs.

Outlasted several restaurants in town and had to move on to others. Been at this one maybe 12 years.

We talk cars, hot rods, politics, motorcycles, guns or anything else. Women.

Share and swap the latest magazines on the aforementioned subjects.

We headbang possible solutions when one of us has a mystery problem with a car or problems in our personal lives.

We all have had fast/hi performance cars and bikes in one form or another since high school. Majority of work on our stuff we do ourselves.

The last several years a new subject has become added to our discussions...body parts wearing out. Ours not the cars.

Proud and lucky to have them as friends.

Right to left... Gary's 1992 truck, Travis' 1954 pro street and my 1967 442

Nice vehicles - I have no clue how in the world you guys managed to meet every Saturday or most Saturdays for the past 40 years?

Heck I still live in the area I grew up and several of my closest friends do as well - we have a hard time getting together a few times a year.

Re: Three friends, three cool cars and Saturday breakfast

Nice! My family had a '67 442. For some reason my Dad bought it for my Mom. Bench seat, automatic on the column, I took my driver's license road test in that car on a hot summer day on Long Island in 1969, fond memories!

Ironic isn't it, my breakfast conversation with friends these days has also, by degrees, shifted with the passage of time from, horsepower, quarter mile times, tits and ass, to prostates and colons. Nice to have great long term friends!

Bruce,

Yes, once in awhile one of us is on vacation, sick, work or something else.

Never thought about the time til I wrote this up and counted the amount of years. Wow it really hit me.

Have another buddy that has a 1969 GTO his father bought new. Ron said he drove it to get his learner permit. He still has it and had it repainted several years ago.
Said he remembers his dad actually brought home a load of gravel in the trunk

To your last part, though we have bad backs, prostates, achey joints at least we are still here to talk about them. Beats the alternative.
