Re: Which model do you currently own? Part II!

FYI, I have adjusted the numbers per posts and received PMs. The counts for the older models have dropped slightly as people are trading them in.

We also see many new members that join with both older and newer models. I do NOT adjust the counts based on their welcome messages and rely on them to come to the poll and vote if they want to.

Re: Which model do you currently own? Part II!

Notable for its absence -- in my 'umble opinion -- is VICTORY.

Why?

Of the twenty bikes or so I have owned over the years ( including several BMW models ), the Victory Vision is far and away the most comfortable. Granted it's not noted for its handling or its speed, but it gets you & yours down the highway in comfort and in style.

Worth mention too is the fact that its maintenance costs (over 27,000 miles) have been "minimal" as well as "modest" -- words in quotes since neither is in the BMW dealer's lexicon.

To be sure, there's no magic quite like that of the BMW -- that's why I drove up to North Carolina yesterday and brought home a 2002 K1200 RS -- some bikes, once in the bloodstream, refuse to leave our memory -- now with both bikes in my garage ( along with the Kawasaki VULCAN I've yet to sell ), I count myself a fortunate, fortunate man!

My bikes were more current when this poll was created so I'm voting. 1- R1100RS and 1 R1150RT. AND I'm a newby on the board. Looking at the results reveals that I am in the 1.4 percentile with the more popular of the 2 bikes I own. Oh well. Time to go riding!!

Re: Which model do you currently own? Part II!

The K1200 RS in my avatar is the bike that got me here, but I don't own it anymore. The rear seal was repaired three times and never stopped seeping, I called BMW and they told me to go to my dealer. In an unrelated matter, the dealer bent a valve at the 24k service.

This FJR replaced the K RS, I have been very happy with it, it is a great bike.

And I also own this ZX 14, an awesome bike.

And this forum is the BEST, and I imagine like many of you, I visit many motorcycle forums.

Mr Webmaster,

The boxergeneration R45/R65 is not mentioned.
In Europe you have a lot of BMW clones coming from the East - here DNEPR should be listed (you already added Ural). Jawa, MZ, EMW there a lot of other less current brands.
Moto Morini (old en new production). Panonnia is an Hungarian brand that is trying to get back to production (design bikes) but is in delay because of the economical crisis.
See what is rational in the context of the forum and use this information as you like it.

Yo! Frantic, what about your buddy on the gas tank? How many steps are left in your life after he bites you in the butt?

Say 10,000 steps a day for the next 30 years ... What's that ... 109,500,000 if I'm lucky

They're the good guys. Wasp stings are worse that a bite from that huntsman.

Re: Which model do you currently own? Part II!

Well, I've got a new to me k1200R that I've had a few months. Sold a 1200GS to get her. Also have a 1971 R75/5, that I have had for almost 20 years. It was my dad's bike and he gave it to me when I turned 15 and got my license/motorcycle endorsement. We put R90s heads and carbs on it . Sadly, it is currently not running.

I don't have a good pic of the r75 atm:

Here's my K12R

A good R75/5 in the Uk is worth on the way to $5000 at least, hang onto it it's money in the bank

BMW, there are no substitutes..

http://blog.motorcycle.com/2014/01/2...percars-video/

The S1000RR should be at the TOP of the list as it is. Thank You!
