Funny, it was clean yesterday.

The titanium has a brushed look, the all stainless might suit you but I've never seen one.

It's not too loud, I still have the baffle in it. I really like it. I keep the stock can around for body building.

Got it from Pirate:

The pipe is carbon fiber Yoshimura TRC, it is meant for 2005 GSX1100R... I made a adapter to fit the K1200S. It is a perfect mach with the tire hugger. Souns great, no dyno yet.

Draz,

can you let me know what was entailed in making the adapter?
TIA

I had to fabricate the end piece that assembels to the tail end of the exhaust pipe. It is the part that fits to the stock joint of the exhaust near the oxygen sensor. If you want I can send you the drawing for it.

Draz,

That would be awesome. I put a '05 muffler on my '03 Gixxer 1000 and have really grown fond of the look. The options for the K have two problems IMHO
1) they have to be purchased
2) they don't have EPA stamps and in NYC the cops may very soon get the right to write tickets and impound your bike on that simple issue. First offense $1000 fine plus impound fees, second offense $2500 and permanent impound of the motorcycle !!!

Well I ended up ordering a Remus Power Cone Titanium can through my dealer. Will post a pic as soon as I have it in hand. I just hope it's not too loud.....but we'll see. Thanks guys for this thread.....very helpful.

Re: Show off your exhaust!

I have a CF Remus Genesis on it's way here. Looks like new based on pics and description. Bought it from a fellow I-BMW-er. Did a search, but haven't found much info here on this can. Does anyone have any experience with the Genesis series of slip-ons? Sound quality...quantity?

Will stick with the stock can until I reach the 600 mile service (shouldn't be very long). Will swapping cans impact warranty? Any reason to install the stock can when servicing the bike at the dealership?

Thanks!

Re: Show off your exhaust!

I can't imagine swapping cans affecting warranty. I've done it for many BMWs and never an issue. Who is your dealer?

Remus Powercone full system. I like that the rear wheel can be removed w/o removing the muffler.

My K12S....

With a K13S exhaust...

Looks very good (to me), sounds very good too (no flapper valve) and can't beat the $100 price I paid.

Not as loud as the Akra I had on my K12R Sport, probably something to do with the cat that's in the 13's can!

Ti Laser Duotech. I was never able to get the elbow pipe without the heat shield so I cut the tabs off and polished it. With the DB killer in place it's not much louder than stock but looks nicer, is lighter and stays much cooler. I'm pleased.

Hi Richie, welcome

Perhaps you may not have response from draz, that post is from 2008...

Yoou can find many threads about exhausts here in the forum, try a search (above in the main screen)

Re: Show off your exhaust!

A 2008 thread resuscitated... times change, perhaps it is time for something a little more contemporary...

Re: Show off your exhaust!

A resuscitated thread eh!
Here's a modified Carbon Laser. I cut almost 5" out of the interior and and re-wrapped with more internal glass. Although the rear chamber has been shortened, the dB killer is still able to be inserted.
As the epoxy on the outer carbon wrap was starting to delaminate, I sanded it back to the carbon and painted satin black. I was going to apply more UV stable epoxy but it was a little cold here at the moment and I didn't want it to bloom. A job for summer!
It's not appreciably louder but certainly throatier with more over run burble!

1300 muffler on a K1200R. A very cheap alternative as 1300 riders replace theirs with aftermarket options.

Re: Show off your exhaust!

Does it have to be a BMW?

Homemade piecut headers that were ceramic coated.

Plan on doing a 75/5 build with another homemade exhaust this summer.

Re: Show off your exhaust!

Stayntune exhaust...... Loud as F_CK!! Even with the silencer piece in it.

Removed it and put OEM Exhaust back on it. Happy cruising.......

That pipe and hanger remain one of the few unresolved design issues with this bike - as I never ride with a passenger, decided to ditch the rear pegs and clean up the rear a bit...attempted to address it as BMW might have.
