K1200 RS 2002 Remus Vs Org.

Hi all,

Just got my hands on a Remus exhaustsytem, bought it just becaus I couldn´t leave it alone. But, since I got it, is there any gain in putting it on?+ I can just keep it for spare until the stock one breaks down...

It's lighter and runs cooler (so less danger of melting a hole in the pannier).

If shiny metal is your thing it's easier to polish because you can easily separate the end can from the pipes so you can get to work with a bench polisher on it.

It's noisier in a sporty way but that can get a bit tiresome on long straight roads.

I would say you get a little more power but the RS is plenty powerful enough for most with the stock.

It doesn't take that much time to swap them over so why not give it a go and see what you think (order the copper gaskets, and perhaps new nuts and studs for fitting the pipes to the head just in case).

With the Remus you'll lose around 17 lbs.. gain around 10hp... look great.. and... you're bike will sound like a motorcycle rather than a Maytag ..

No downsides except trying to figure out what to do with that anchor of an oem system..

While I'm a Staintune fun, I'm with the Pirate on this - lighter, cooler, runs better, and sounds like a motorcycle (without attracting unwanted attention). For the record, I couldn't figure out what to do with my factory original, so its hanging up in the garage just in case it should ever be needed ...
