Gear Shift Assistant Pro

Has anyone installed the Gear Shift Assit Pro shifter themselves?

In the picture (web link) the outgoing part of the gearbox it would seem to have blocks defined for each gear separately, in which case the blocks should be in a fixed position when installed.

Or whether the correct gear must be selected when installed or whether the position/gear does not matter?

Or is it more sensible to leave this to the mechanic to be installed since activation of the code must be done at the service center.

Re: Gear Shift Assistant Pro

I'm stupid.
It does not matter which position the shifter will be installed. Adjust as usual with the shift lever so that the gears change correctly.
Gearshift shaft does not make a continuous rotating motion. Always rotate the same amount and return to the starting position.

Re: Gear Shift Assistant Pro

Shift Assist Pro will need activation by the dealer. It's not only hardware ...

Re: Gear Shift Assistant Pro

True, there run a new application update where at same time adjust by software the gear level movement and the carburetor control.
The gear shift assistant can not be installed incorrectly. Grooving of the gear shif axel has been done so that on one side of axel the groove is wider than elsewhere.
Fitting in place is not difficult. Shift assistant has to smuggle on the shaft with the fixing bolt and washer. Frame pipe prevents the bolt installation afterwards if shifter is in place.
Here's the Earth price of shifter is quite tough, 530 € but hopefully it is worth it.

I now have my second GSA LC, both have the shift assist. Had it retrofitted on my first one (‘14). I wouldn’t want them without it.
