Suggestion for I-BMW.com- In Memoriam

A few days ago I was trying to remember the name of an i-BMW member we lost about 15 years ago... I couldn't remember enough about him to do a search here so I went back through my on-line newsletters and found it in the November 2003 issue.. Brad Reetz ... and then a follow up in the Jan 2004 issue re a fund drive we put together for the daughter he was raising alone..

It got me to thinking..I don't think I've ever had a site suggestion to make the site better as honestly... whoever actually designs it does a damn good job. Not sure if Vic is truly at the helm these days or just a semi-mythical figurehead. I'm guessing there's a small team doing the actual html work..

That being said.. What do you guys/gals think about having a " In Memoriam" section.. A special forum to post info on i-BMW members we've lost.. Off the top of my head (besides Brad) I have lost some dear friends. Ra few years ago, Logan Cantor ( a regular at past DGRs) and recently.. Becky (Nadine) Settles... A section where we could post pictures of them.. relate stories and/or anecdotes.. contact info of their families to send cards, etc.. even funeral info.. a place for remembrance and honor.

i-BMW has been around for 20 years now... Some of us are in great health.. Some not so much. Death doesn't discriminate. Many of us are on the backside of life.. Some are old as fucking dirt.. While it seems that we have NOT lost a lot of members through these 20 years.. at some point that'll change. I don't know about the rest of you, but I would consider it an honor to be remembered in a "In Memoriam" section some day in the hopefully distant future.... Just sayin...

Something to think about going forward..Whether that be the semi-mythical VicS or the men behind the scenes. Opinions welcome..

Jerry:

I think it is a good suggestion - I myself have wondered about a few members that no longer post here and I think they may have passed.

Yes Vic indeed is still at the helm of i-BMW and yes he has a few team members helping him.

Re: Suggestion for I-BMW.com- In Memoriam

We might also want to add a section for those, due to their riding 'skills', might be aspiring eventually to that main section Lord knows we've all strafed with numerous knuckleheads that have somehow evaded death......

Yep, I designed this current I-BMW look and feel back in December 2005 and haven't had the need to update/touch it as it ain't yet broken, well, minimally ain't broken ;0... Great staff here assisting in the day to day corralling the chooches
Brad was a good one. Miss that guy...

Wonderful idea, Jerry.
Perhaps the best location for this thread is in the non-public forum, in “The BeemerVista Social Club”?
If agreed upon, it could be made a sticky, permanently at the top of the forum.
