BMW, 7 new models??

I was at the Chicago motorcycle show yesterday and was talking to a sales rep at the BMW booth, was asking him if bmw was going to replace the K1300s with anything??? He told me bmw is coming out with 6 to 7 new model bikes by next year! I had no idea, is this advertised anywhere? He also was talking about the K1300S as people either loved that bike or hated it, but what he did say interesting was, since its been gone and there really are not many to be found for sale, and that he has customers constantly wanting to get there hands on one for purchase. Not saying our beloved K1300S will one day be a bike sought after for bigger money than expected but there definitely seems to be a growing interest in this bike since its been gone. Time will tell.

Re: BMW, 7 new models??

The K13S was a popular bike with K13S owners but not popular with anyone else which hastened its demise. BMW owners bought the K13S but nobody traded in there busa or ZX14R for a K13S. I don't see BMW replacing the K13S but I'd like to see a K16S, something like the concept 6, or more likely a S1000S. The single R and XR come close but both have their drawbacks. Single R has no fairing and no factory panniers option and the XR is too tall and only half faired. I've almost bought a XR twice but can't get past the seat height and looks.

A S1000S fully faired, factory bags, longer wheelbase, single side swing arm and shaft drive would be perfect but I could live with a chain drive. The more I look at the Kawasaki H2SXSE the more I think it will be my next bike. If I'm wrong and BMW comes out with a K14S it would make quite a few of us happy.

Re: BMW, 7 new models??

This mirrors the experience of the UK dealership where I buy my bikes. They have a waiting list of people wanting to buy a K13S, and there's no haggling on the price. They phone up the first person on the list and tell them the price. If they won't pay it the odds are that the second person on the list will.

That could be very cool...probably a little less weight.
