Just purchased a 2001 R1200C Phoenix

Purchased a 2001 R1200C Phoenix yesterday in Phoenix, AZ. It has 9.4K miles.

I went for a short ride today. The tires are very old so I didn't want to ride too far or too fast. Runs fine, very quiet, with adequate power. I'm taking it into the local dealer for full service this week or next. The ABS lights are blinking -- that should be good for an expensive repair I'm sure.

Do the ABS lights go off after you ride for a mile or less or continue blinking? I wouldn't ride on those tires at all, check the sidewalls to make sure they are not dry rotted. From what I've read old tires can lose their stickiness so I wouldn't lean over to far in a turn if you have to ride the bike to the dealership.

The lights never go out. They continue to blink even after riding 20+ miles.

You have an issue that needs to be corrected, it's normal for the lights to blink on start up but they are supposed to turn off once you start moving

Lets hope it's just a weak battery.
Does it have Servo brakes like your K1200S?

No. I expected to have to spend a fair amount on maintenance. While the bike has only 9.4K miles and it has been ridden regularly (but not far) it still needs some TLC maintenance.

Here's a pic . . .

Look up module masters. They may be able to fix it.

I already took it in to the dealer for mucho service: new tires, new battery, pigtail on the battery, 12K service, new brake lines, ABS looked at, etc., etc.. I don't expect the bill to be much over a million dollars.

Was the owner's name Chris? I never see a BMW Cruiser in Phoenix, and he was the only one I know with one.
