Dunlop Roadsmart3 - initial impressions

For those who actually ride their K-bikes...I had a nice ride home from a 12k service and mounting of the new Dunlop Roadsmart3. I managed to get 3100 miles out of the Q3+ that were replaced - not bad for the ridiculous performance they provided in real-world hooligan riding and my absolute favorite rubber on this machine.

I've come to really like the turning characteristics of the Dunlops - rolling in rather than dropping in to turns, and hope these RS3s will be the magic tire that gives me confident wet and dry grip - and 6000 mile service life... We'll see. Fact is, there are a lot of excellent tire choices these days.

On the way home I got to give them a good hot test on dry pavement - in a word - Excellent Hopefully these will get me up to prep for the BRPR...

Not those. The bike had Metzler Sportec 03 on it when new (got 3500 miles). I replaced those with Metzler Roadtec 01s, which were great when new, but went downhill quickly from about 2000 miles (got 5300 miles). I wasn't enamored with my Metzler experience, so I went elsewhere for set #3.

The Q3s were everything I'd hoped for, and didn't expect more than 2500 miles.

The Roadsmart3s have virtually identical turning characteristics to the Q3, and thus far the grip feels great. Wet grip is untested. Who knows what mileage I'll get...

Re: Dunlop Roadsmart3 - initial impressions

Keep us posted, as I'm considering the Roadsmart's for the GT after the Roadtec's are done.

Iíve run RoadSmarts since they were introduced on a variety of bikes the very reason? I love the way they drop into a corner(very quickly) compared to say a Michelin although part of my bike evolution I run a SportSmart(same ish) to your Q3 on the front and the swap between a Sport or Road on the rear depending on what iím Using the bike for.
