Metzeler M5 Dspec rear tire

Hi all,

I have been using Metzeler M5 on my K1300s for a while. This time when it was time to change, I noticed the tires I typically use are no longer is stock and a new "D" spec version is now available. Does anyone know the difference between the non "D" spec and the "D" spec tires?

Thanks in advance

Re: Metzeler M5 Dspec rear tire

I think it is the new 5 compound tire - it is OEM for the ZX14 - but not real sure. I also think it has the numbers 1 through 5 on the sides - indicating lean angle and then of course all the way to the elephant.

Hi Howard

From http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/m...act-rear-tires

D-Spec tires feature Metzeler's Multi-Zone Compound Technology
New tension layout ensures a high level of confidence and control while leaning with the best progressive feedback of the supersport segment on the street as well as the track
New Dura Sil high silica formula with dedicated resin compounds sets a new benchmark of the segment in terms of wet traction

Also here you can find an interesting comparison between metzeler...
