Re: Screwed up...

I know you want to be back where you were. I've been through a few events and never got back to where I was before. Please be careful and enjoy what you get back. Getting back on a bike is way more than I ever expected. Good on you. b

What to do? 90 minutes all to myself...

I immediately hopped on the bike and went for a ride on the twisty little road around lake Mempremagog.

Stopped at the general store in Georgeville

(don't know why selfies reverse the pic???)

Then went to the marina

The view from there is outstanding. That's the USA that we see on the other side of the 25 mile long lake that straddles the border of Quebec and Vermont.

On the other side of the lens their was also another outstanding view... and I ain't referring to that same lakeview the guests at the terrace of the inn see!

Love the view to the engine bay!

I got home a little late, (had to tank up...)

Fortunately, the kids weren't back yet so I was none for the worse!

Got off the bike and I'm real sore... also the legs are still not strong enuf to stand easily on the pegs...that's the only drawback to this ride.

Man, that was only 100 miles or so...
Crawled up them 37 steps and sat down in front of a nice cold one....

That's it for today!

This post was written somewhat better earlier... just before windows shut down and rebooted itself with some updates... I didn't see it coming... I hate that!!!
I know the Georgville general store very well. Been in there many times over the years. I used to go there for fresh corn on the cobb in the fall and I used to play tennis at the local club right beside it. I even ran into one of my favourite actors in there one day by the name of Donald Sutherland who had a place on the lake just down the road. Glad to hear that you are back on the bike again.

Bump....seriously! Airhawk or what I saw on a clean GS when I parked my dirty RS next to it Tuesday.Owner wasn't around so I didn't want to manipulate his P-pad.

Had lunch...waited and he never showed up so I did touch his P-pad. "The Pro Pad" and certainly Gel.Louis needs one....cheep otherwise he won't be able to pay me for cleaning that GS of his.

Check your closets!

Went out for another ride yesterday, the grandkids were with the neighbors again, bless their little soul! So I figured that I had a small window of opportunity here so... a nice road is a nice road... I went back to Georgeville.
Last time they were closed so I went in to see what the fuss is all about.

Vintage General store! (sorry I didn't take any pics...)

Checked out the tennis courts too.

Pete we should hook up in the fall, I'll be back in BC by early September.

Cheers

Don't yet know what route we'll be taking back north from SGR, might be coastal, might be inland. If Daryl and I swing inland maybe swing past your place then home across southern BC. will be sometime around the 16th or 17'th of Sept. PM me a # to call if we decide to go inland.

As I get older I don't bounce off of things like I used to. Fortunately in my youth I didn't break
many bones.
He's young though and will heal well, long distance riding sitting down might be more limited
now though. Might have to consider a HondaBago.

Not well enough to ride my GSA back to BC for me though.
Guess I'll look into shipping options.

Mahteen should already have won ROTY IMO, but he no longer rides a K-bike.

Re: Screwed up...

Picking up my bike from Pierre Begin today. He's been caring for it this summer.
Planning on going to visit BC in ten days or so with Pierre, Andy (Howkan) and Craig who did the post SGR with me last year.
Will test my body on the GS tomorrow morning on my way back to Rossland. I'm hoping that I can get more than 2 hours max...

Been walking around a little more lately.
Still having mixed reviews...

Re: Screwed up...

Well, I had a great ride down from Burton! Two and a half hours and not much pain.

Prolly the saddle on the big girl had something to do with it.

Stiff but no real hurt.

The GS handled fine and now that all maintenance is up to date, I'm ready to try some longer distance!

Thanks to Pièrre Begin for a top shelf job!

So... I guess that there are two beeches on the West coast! Some guys are just blessed with the gift...

Time to plan for the fall trip!

Craig, Pierre and Andy, you guys still IN ?

Cheers

This is good news too hear Louis.

Shouldn't be long and back to skiing. Maybe the bunny hill , but it's still a hill.

This is good news too hear Louis.

Shouldn't be long and back to skiing. Maybe the bunny hill , but it's still a hill.

No no no... Not the bunny hill!

I'll make a big concession and say right now that I'll only be skiing the groomers all winter but not the bunny hill...
I'll definitely be skiing slower than before.

Except for a Search and Rescue mission, just won't be able to ski outta bounds... I might even be able to, but I'll definitely try to resist the urge till the year after. I'm going to be sure that the legs can take the pounding I give'em.

Thanks for your encouragement, this will give me the extra will power to work out a little more. Been slacking off lately...

Cheers bud

Riding the bike and thinking about skiing, you must be progressing nicely. Glad to hear it.
