greetings!

I have been riding BMW motorcycles since 1984... I try to ride every month, not every day. I purchased this K1200RS 9 months ago. Way different than the K1100RS that i had for 8 years.. til it finally died.
I enjoy riding long distances. Last year I rode from my home in Columbia Heights to my brother in law in Apple Valley, California... Did it in 39 hours. Stayed around for Mother's Day and left for home early Monday morning. Only took 37 hours... if I had stayed on I-35 north when entering Kansas ... oh well. Rode through a small town twice... heheh
Motorcycling Amateur Radio Club is based in Irvine, California. Telling non riders or even riders that I have to go to California for breakfast gets a Look or a smile.

Re: greetings!

thanks Rick,

perfect place for another nut... I have the non riders asking me.. "Do you wear a helmet?" and I nod and they in turn looked relieved... Then I have told them, " I am trying to protect my ears.. wind can be deafening..." And the look on their faces... " Its not for your ears but when you crash!" They counter...

I go into the jargon of the first 3 years of riding or telling them the rear wheel brake is for steering... and counter steering... soon the eyes are rolling and they change the subject.

yep... priceless

tim Lindstrom...

Somewhere a True Believer is training to kill you. He is training with minimal food or water, in austere conditions, training day and night. The only thing clean on him is his weapon and he made his web gear. He doesn't worry about what workout to do - his ruck weighs what it weighs, his runs end when the enemy stops chasing him. This True Believer is not concerned about 'how hard it is;' he knows either he wins or dies. He doesn't go home at 17:00, he is home.
