Question Pillion Seat Cover for Traction

Hi All,
I swear I have read somewhere about a cover that you can fit over the passenger pillion of the stock seat to help keep your passenger from sliding into you when you brake and, more important, from skidding off when you roll on the gas.
Does anyone know where I can find such a thing?

Or you could buy kitchen shelf liners made of the same material. Look in Home Depot or Lowes. You can get a roll for $10 and trim up a new one after the first one flies off the first time you forget to take it off!

Re: Pillion Seat Cover for Traction

I ordered the original from the site. They are tailored by model to fit the particular bike's seat. It was only $23 with shipping from the UK, so not a terribly expensive gamble - lets see if it works.

It works well. I got it for my KS back in the day and the missus loved it (as did I since she stopped sliding into me on those occasions when the brakes were applied more than liberally).

Yep. After nearly launching the bike out from under my riding buddy at BRPR a few years ago we stopped and did the hardware store fix.

As soon as we got home I ordered the Triboseat. I think all would agree the Triboseat is the better looking solution.

My wife used to complain about this on the old K100RT, but on the 08 K1200GT, the seat is great! No sliding around!

Re: Pillion Seat Cover for Traction

The good news: it already shipped.
The bad news: somehow the bank processed the payment three times.

Re: Pillion Seat Cover for Traction

I had the seat covers on my last two bikes redone by a local shop to reshape and add a gel pad for additional comfort.

both times he made a new cover with material for a watercraft seat. sticky as hell, but easy to move around on. The wife [Tanya] really loves the new cover that keeps her from sliding. The new cover was less than $100.

The stock seat ends up way better than any aftermarket seat, for less than half the cost.

They’re both made of the same material and you can trim it to size.
