Belly pan removal

Hey guys, this is going to be a really stupid question, but hey ho...

I need to remove my belly pan to get it repaired (looks like someone has kicked it and cracked it in a few places..), but I'm slightly worried about damaging it more.

Is it straight forward to remove it, just unscrew the bolts holding it on and then slide it out or is there anything more to it?

Thanks

And I've just noticed this is probably in the wrong sub-forum, but I can't seem to move it..

Re: Belly pan removal

I'm guessing you're referring to a K13R HP belly pan? If so, there shouldn't be anything trivial there, just remove the bolts and take it off

I thought it would be, but I thought it would be a good idea to have an ask before I tried removing it. Thank you

Re: Belly pan removal

I always put something underneath it for support until all the screw are removed. That way the removal is controlled and there isn't undue stress at any of the attachment points.

Re: Belly pan removal

A KS bike has two screws (one each side) in front inside by the radiator up near the top. Have an upset girlfriend with boots?
