RT claimed that he got 10K or so, and also that he did it consistently faster than the rest of us, on roads that he couldn't tell us about because he didn't want to feel responsible when we rode them, crashed and got hurt.

But I can tell that you're not RedTail, because you speak rationally, in complete sentences, in English.

Well I try! I don't really know what I'll get out of these so I'm curious myself. As I said I ride like a grampa so I don't win any races but at least I'm smooth and consistant

Red face Re: Tire Poll.

I have Michellin pilot road 4 gt tyres on my 2010, previously had battleaxes tyres. the michelins are much better grip in the wet and handling is more stable and solid. i did not feel confident going through bends on battleaxes , changed them at 4000 miles so not good value.

This post is about as useful as an ashtray on a motor cycle!

Have just ridden across Aus on Battlax T30's (GT rear) me like; double thumbs up.

Re: Tire Poll.

I've been using Michelin PR for the past 4 years on the '03 K1200GT. PR3 most recently. My first set ran 20,000 kms (including 12,000 of long trips) while giving great grip and a great ride. What more can you ask? I don't see any compeliing reason to change.
I run 42 psig front and rear and find the front and rear wear out together. No cupping or strange wear patterns, but the left side goes first as is normal in North America.

On the '04 R1200GS I'm running Michelin Anakees. they are a good road tire but not worth a damn in mud or dirt. Road wear mileage is excellent as is ride and feel.

Re: Tire Poll.

Hi i have pilot road 4 gt's on my k1300GTEE . Great tyres in all weathers here in the UK -5 the other week and plenty of rain! bikes handling is much better with the Michelins as had bridgestone bt20s as stock and changed at 4000 Miles. BT's may be good in hot climates but crap in the UK weather conditions, the bike never felt safe going in and out of bends with the Bt's

Ummm, I think that might be due to the "longevity" of this poll. I took notice that my first reply in this post was almost TEN YEARS AGO in 2006. Fact is the Z8's didn't even exist then. I've also noted that tires have vastly improved in the past 10 years.

Re: Tire Poll.

Just to update some data on longevity.
The Pirelli Angel front tyre on my K1200RS has just been replaced with another of the same type (as I love these tyres) and we managed to get 14,200 kms out of it, which is about 3000kms more than we get from a rear tyre. The riding is 90% touring, 2 up with luggage.

Re: Tire Poll.

Matt is so correct, amazing how much tires have changed in the past ten years. Currently have M7RR's on the K13S. Really nice. (M5's, middle of the road tires are history seems, and no problem, there are better tires around)
