Nice Spring Ride

Got out mid morning today after getting some work done around the ranch and managed to get in 183 miles of great back Road romping.

Cheryl had work to do to, so she opted out and played dutiful teacher getting lesson plans ready leaving me for a solo run.

The XR is really loosening up nicely now, she is up to 1250+ miles.
The vibes in the bars are all but gone now, there is still a spot where every harmonizes to create a vibe ride around 100 mph in top gear, but just about every bike has that spot and it isn't even worth thinking about.

Todays ride was 183miles with a 69mph average and a 149mph max speed Speedo was showing 155 (this was of course on a top secret closed course too dangerous for mere mortals to know where is, so don't ask). I managed to hit up most of my favorite roads and there was very little traffic anywhere.

The XR is really a joy to ride, and very easy to ride fast in the tight stuff and while it isn't where its best at it is even pretty good here despite having T30s on it.

Almost makes one want to put a set of dual sport tires on and go explore the gravel roads, but then again a set of Angel GTs will prob. be her next shoes, as why give up any road performance for the very limited time I would spend on gravel roads.

Re: Nice Spring Ride

Karl, that looks like a lot of fun. I am sure that part of what makes your XR so fast is that it is RED! Texas has all kinds of riding, doesn't it? Cathy and I look forward to seeing you at another rally sometime soon.
