Re: Four New Harley's....

The VRod was never accepted by the HD crowd. I'm going to assume this new model is going to go over like a lead balloon. Unfortunate for HD because they are trying to get into new markets and grow their profits.

Re: Four New Harley's....

I agree, wont go over well with the baby boomers, but they are aging and are not buying like they used too. So the models are aimed at the younger generation is my guess.
Harley really cant do much more for the baby boomers, so they have to get on track for what the younger generation wants, or at least thats what im sure harley is hoping for.
Im impressed harley is finally stepping out from there bread and butter comfort zone. Im sure they realize they have to make some changes fast.

Re: Four New Harley's....

While I would tend to agree that the died in the wool HD rider will not give these a second look, Harley probably hopes that someone else will that has not considered a HD previously. It is probably long due that HD begins to think out of its' conventional box. Kudos, even it is a bit late coming. Ya gotta try until they throw the dirt in your face!

I think it looks nice. To bad the led array was not a sliding red affair then the bikes a dead ringer for a cylon

Re: Four New Harley's....

The V-Rod Liquid Cooled Motor was packed with power and torque, it just needed a chassis to mate with.

Never net a Harley or Buell without a high center of gravity and too much weight.

Not going backwards to own a two wheeled truck.

Re: Four New Harley's....

Except for the electric model, didn't the HD/Buell relationship already try out versions of the other three? I get that they are trying something new, but I feel they should reimagine what they are good at. The Livewire is a great idea, the Custom seems inline with HD lineage, but the other two......

"Compete with.....KTM and BMW in this hotly contested category", meaning Adventure. Good luck with that one! Besides, they left out the quality offerings from Triumph and Honda. Even less room for a, I have trouble even saying it, Harley Davidson adventure bike.
