Tony;

You have inserted images before in this thread, but please use images that dont get 'ruined' by 'signs/organisations'... we like them pristine and clean..

Kjell - I've emailed you the 2.5M original. It was a panning shot, so there's bit of 'motion' to it. Yes, I'd have loved that one to be really crisp too.

Here's another one of my favorites of that bike. This was sunset near Morro Bay along the Pacific Ocean on a little unknown goat trail called Turri Rd.

Ya, I even had to grovel once to get an image up there for a few hours - but then again, I have no shame.

I won't grovel this time, I'll just slip Locus a fiver and see if that works.

The second is from the same trip, but on the road in Texas, just hapened to glance down as the odometer was on all 6s.

Breaking in tires...

Breaking in tires seems to fall into the same category as oil types, tire pressure, etc... everyone has their own opinion. There seems to be a pervasive thought that you have to ride 100+ miles before increasing your pace to a spirited level. Dunlop's website even mentions this, but adds that it is only to accustom the rider to the handling characteristics of the new tires... have you ever seen the racers ride conservatively in the beginning of a race?? While I agree that a certain level of prudence should be used to scuff the entire surface of the tire before getting aggressive, this isn't something that takes endless miles or black magic to accomplish. This is a recent shot breaking in a new set of PP2CT's prior to my ride to Laguan Seca for MotoGP. This shot was taken when the tires had approximately 20 miles on them...

YMMV... no guarantees... ... draw your own conclusions...

Hey, I was breaking in the new tires conservatively... can't get that last 1/4 inch until you have another 5 miles on them...

Charlie, what ya think about those PP2CT? comparing to pirelli's 2CTs(i thinks its call Diablo Corsa III)?

Tony, I have run several sets of the PP2CT's and the Corsa III's. I would give a slight edge to the Corsa III's for grip, however it is very slight. I have total confidence in the grip of the PP2CT's, plus I prefer the their turning characteristics and I get better mileage from them. So... for just blasting up canyon and mountain roads, I think the Corsa III's rule, but as an overall tire, I give the edge to the PP2CT's. YMMV...

Kjell, I get 3500 to 4000 miles, about 500+ more than the Corsa III's...

Well, no........ I got past Stoner on the Rahal straight, slipped past Rossi on the inside, at 8 and all by my lonesome at 8a........... clear track until I caught the back markers.

I had to do a screen shot to get this one up and it's not as sharp as the original. Having trouble loading the track photos. When I figure that out I'll do a track report. The surface was real stickey if you notice my rear tire I'm peeling it off in ribbons.

Monday was a little cool as we went to the riders meeting with a few clouds in the sky. It cleared about 10:00am, the temp was a clear 69* with only a slight breeze by the last session at 4:30.

Tuesday was clear and 58* for the first session then warmed to 72* by 11:00am and virtually no clouds or wind on Tuesday. You couldn't ask for better weather and a better track. Laguna Seca is awesome. BTW, Doug Chandler is too..... he rides pretty good.

Kjell, yes I do but I'm having trouble uploading. The one I posted is a screen shot and isn't nearly as crisp as the original. I can make a larger screen shot, but again it will not be as crisp or sharp a copy. When I get a break from work I'll try and upload the original and post it if I have any success.
