Question The Next Great Advancement in Motorcycles...

The Next Great Advancement in Motorcycles...

The electronic tech has improved almost to its limits for riding/handling.

Will the next area for advancement be in aerodynamics such that the captain and pillion will ride in quiet air, even with full face helmets?

A few bikes have already achieved this but most have not.

Autonomous w/o having to put your feet down will be the next big thing. Once that's done we can enclose them completely and aero will be a cinch. You can also pack more onto the roads. Just think 3 and 4 wide on a standard lane. sounds like a dream. Or nightmare depending.....

It'll look like a school of baitfish.

Ever been skydiving?

That's the wind noise you should hear when riding.

"Horizontal skydiving."

Will wind noise become more intrusive without being covered by engine/exhaust noise?

Re: The Next Great Advancement in Motorcycles...

One issue of adaptation needed when going from a bike with turbulence to one with clean air is that wind noise is no longer a measure of speed.

For example, you could be doing 80 mph and audibly feel like its only 40 mph.

EEverything has jumped leaps and bounds since the mid-90's except batteries...

How long will it take?

Just as long as they increase the range and power when I have to start using a personal mobility scooter!

Unsurprisingly the company making them went bust....

Re: The Next Great Advancement in Motorcycles...

The advancement in aerodynamics will hopefully be for most non-enclosed motorcycles.

The idea is to enjoy the motorcycling experience without the deafening turbulence common on most bikes.
