SPOILER - Mugello MotoGP

OK practice doesn't start until tomorrow, and Rossi has been cleared to ride, ( https://www.superbikeplanet.com/vale...ugello-motogp/ )but from this it sounds like he banged himself up pretty good

Rossi Battered & Bruised: Will Try To Ride Mugello
SuperbikePlanet Editor

https://www.superbikeplanet.com/ross...-ride-mugello/

Raise your hands–who has been here before? Male, late 30s who has come up short or simply crashing while riding an MX bike at an MX track? Full frontal impact on the hardpack is never fun but less so when your 40th birthday party is not as far away as you’d wish.

Bruised chest, liver and kidneys from an MX crash kept Rossi in the hospital last week. Can he ride at Mugello this weekend?

Rossi says: “Unfortunately I crashed while I was training on a motocross bike. The pain in the abdomen and in the chest is still severe. Fortunately, my condition is improving day by day and this allows me to think a bit more positively about the Mugello weekend. My desire to be at the start of the Italian GP is so strong and I’m working on recovering as soon as possible. It will not be easy but I still have a few days to continue the treatment. On Thursday I will have to do the medical check-up to get the OK to go on the track. If all is well, I will ride my YZR-M1 on Friday to really understand my condition. I will do my best to be on track Sunday, for sure.”

Re: SPOILER - Mugello MotoGP

Bruised liver and kidney mean some internal bleeding. A cracked liver can be a serious thing. I CAN'T believe he is going back out. Another crash and a small bruised liver can mean life threatening bleeding.

Re: SPOILER - Mugello MotoGP

FP1 & 2 are in the books, Rossi is struggling, and Vinales took a big tumble in FP2, a couple of photos under the timesheets,

Valentino Rossi was on track for the first time since suffering chest and stomach injuries in last week's motocross training accident.

Sylvain Guintoli is again replacing injured rookie Alex Rins at Suzuki, while Ducati test rider Michele Pirro is making his first wild-card appearance of the season.

The stiffer front tyre construction is making its 2017 debut this weekend.

Mugello has the fastest straight on the calendar, with Andrea Iannone setting an official top speed record of 220.5mph/354.9km/h for Ducati in last year's race...

FP2

Cal Crutchlow sets the fastest Friday lap time, at the end of Free Practice 2 for the Italian MotoGP at Mugello.

Earlier, World championship leader Maverick Vinales suffered a big accident at Turn 9. The young Spaniard was clearly shaken, but eventually able to walk away and returned to action in the closing minutes.

Dovizioso, Pirro, Vinales, Zarco, Barbera, Lorenzo and Marquez did not improve on their morning lap times.

The top 10 riders on combined practice times are: Crutchlow, Dovizioso, Folger, Pirro, Vinales, Zarco, Pedrosa, Barbera, Bautista, Lorenzo. (This is pretty critical to advance directly into Qualifying 2 session without having to make it through qualifying 1)

Agreed. Motor 2 and GP were great too. Probably the three best "collectively" that I can recall!
