It's not over yet!!!

Dovi v Marq with a crazy last handful of laps and another crazy last corner or three.

I don't think anyone gave Dovi much of a thought at this race. The Ducati works in the wet and in the dry and at a variety of venues and most importantly at the end of the race.

This may come down to Valencia.

Re: Spoiler----Motegi

Best race of the season - wet OR dry

The run for the hole shot was serious in those conditions, and the race pace was surreal

Re: Spoiler----Motegi

Marquez has the ability to put his motorcycle wherever he wants to at almost any given time. If it weren't for the laws of physics which he and his motorcycle still have to obey, he would be unstoppable.

It's almost like the others are hampered a little being on a bike while he's moving around like an athlete in soccer or football around people. Or he's riding a 200 pound dirtbike against people riding harleys.

To everyone it looks risky, to him, it's almost natural.

Just got back from a weekend away- just watched the race - sad to see Vale in the pebbles but what a thrilling race glad to see Dovi come out on top! Phillip Island should be thrilling!

Re: Spoiler----Motegi

Yes, Rossi getting thrown off his bike was a let down.

What's up with the factory Yamaha???
Vinales has basically given up. While understandable, I havent been too impressed with his attitude.

There has been no honeymoon period. Straight to dissappointment and resentment of the results. I guess thats what happens when you so thoroughly dominate preseason practice.

Re: Spoiler----Motegi

These are my thoughts on Moto GP so far, for the year. Some of this may sound like a rant or that I don't like Moto GP.... but I love it! I actually gave up football at the end of last year, before all of this years stupidity. Something about how Green Bay beat Dallas too easily in the playoffs, and I could no longer tolerate Joe Buck calling Aaron Rogers the second coming of Joe Montana. That was it for me. I haven't looked back and haven't regretted it once.

This is my second year having the Moto GP pass, and it is awesome! I watch almost all practices and qualifying, pre and post race conferences and of course all the races. The pass allows you to hear all the inside information about the teams/riders, and that makes the race more enjoyable.

I love Zarco! Is he a little aggressive? Probably. Do I care when it's against Lorenzo. No. And you gotta love that accent.

So happy for Dovizioso. He really deserves this. I felt Repsol Honda should have kept him when they had the chance several years ago. Dovi seems genuinely a nice, unpretentious guy you could ride with for fun.

Are the cameras not working properly during practice and qualifying? Cause they seem to be stuck on Marquez. Does anyone else notice this? It's like he's the only rider out there! (okay that's a little dramatic) But seriously! I've begun fast forwarding some of the Marquez footage during practice. Give me a break.

Vinales. I really feel for him. I think he's biting his tongue to not call Yamaha out for their poor performance. After those first 3 or 4 races, I think he had one hand on the championship trophy. His time will probably come, but it won't be this year. Great rider.

Joan Mir in Moto 3 looks like the real deal. What a great kid, always smiling and happy. He'll probably do well with Marc VDS.

Happy for Tom Luthi's move to Marc VDS. Hope he can figure out that bike that neither Jack Miller nor Tito Rabat can.

Moto GP head scratchers:

Does Sam Lowes know that you have to actually finish races to win a Moto 2 championship?? He seems unbelievably arrogant, prideful, and generally a jerk. I am baffled that a top tier Moto 2 team would take a chance on him. At the end of 2016 while riding the Federal Oil Gresini bike, it seemed he crashed out of every race in the last half of the season. That form has followed him to Moto GP. I do not blame Aprilia one bit for cutting him loose. But you know...he's just gonna go back to Moto 2, win the championship then come back to Moto GP.

How is Takaaki Nakagami given an opportunity in Moto GP?? Clearly LCR Honda want Japanese representation in Moto GP. I feel he's done nothing to warrant a move up.

Xavier Simeon?? Really?? I guess if you've got money to bring to the team you can ride in Moto GP! Very odd.

I'm surprised by KTM sticking with Bradley Smith after a horrible year, especially when Mikka Kallio is riding so well. Maybe the Smith family is bringing cash too.

I still love to hear Nick Harris calling a race. Is he past his prime? Maybe. But it still works for me. Matt Birt keeps Nick honest and does a good job with his analysis.

I wrote this quickly, so hopefully it's not wonky.

Phillip Island coming up!!!

Re: Spoiler----Motegi

You may love Zarco but the other riders hate riding with him because heís completely unpredictable.

What I do like is heís building one of the great fortunes with the exception of his time at Tech 3 heís always been on big bucks Iíd love to see his bonus contract for wins and getting on the podium with Ducati never mind if he wins the championship probably learned from Stoner cuz itís well known he got the least for winning his championship.

Think youíll find the camera is always on Marquez because no one can work out how he does it cuz everyone knows in the paddock the bike is crap.

Vinales is just on a learning curve as winter testing means nothing.

Yep Mir really does look like the real McCoy.

As for the pair going to Mark VDS after what has gone on with Tech 3 who knows but while the Tech3 Yamaha is known to be the easiest to ride the customer Hondas junk.

Lowes is a difficult because I seriously doubt he has the talent but when he was in Moto2 he was the only rider with that frame and zero input from anyone else, the Aprillia he rides is nothing like the one on the other side of the garage and iím Informed you wouldnít trust his crew to blow his tyres up so heís hardly had his fair crack of the whip, but the word is that other Aprillia is a serous motorcycle.

Nakagamiís situation is simple heís Japanese end of story donít ever make the mistake of thinking Moto GP is a sport!! Itís a business first and foremost and heíll bring big Japanese coverage.

The KTM thing with Smith is very simple much huffing and puffing about him being demoted so he brought over from the US his heavy duty managers and shoved the small print up KTMís nose.

Re: Spoiler----Motegi

Marquez had a good lead on Dovi on the last lap not far from the finish but had a big slide and let Dovi back in the game I think he would have won but for that mistake.
