Old girl Is great. Went to winthrop the other week. Headed to wenatchee tomorrow for pnw festival. One of the mounting hooks on top decided to break off. It still feels pretty secure with the others. Just seeing if anyone has one laying around.

Fanfuckingtastic! Man do I miss that bike! I should never have sold it! Oh well I guess. I'm just happy to know she's in good hands!

Some have drilled a hole in the bottom mount so the bag can't dismount. This would secure the bag and keep you from needing another one.

Cheers man! Happy trails!

Re: K1200RS side bag

I like the look of the bike without the bags. But I ride every day so the bags are almost a necessity. I get so many compliments about her. My buddy looked and looked for one to buy after i got mine. He settled on a fjr

Re: K1200RS side bag

I repaired a broken mounting hook, the front L/H.One hooked piece of SS and 3 SS machine bolts.Broken one day when I tipped the big K over a bear.Fixed the next day.

Same bag also had a compromised lower mount. Also fixed with SS backing. It sure ain't coming off my bike less I encounter another bear?

Holy s**t! I can't even imagine a scenario where a bear and my K bike would be in the same location. Not many bears near me, but I guess maybe if one crossed the road. Well, I guess if I was in the parking lot of a "leather bar" I might come across a "bear." You weren't "off-roading" the K bike were you?!?!

I've drilled the holes and put captured pins at the bottom mount on one of my bikes, plan to do it on the other. I'm OCD when I ride, looking at and touching all my luggage points every few minutes when on the road. I need to stop doing that. The extra pins make me feel a little better about the security of the bags. Each captured pin is only a couple dollars at Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

Re: K1200RS side bag

Offroading a K.Me?????

But theorically not offroading then.Gravel public highway.BC 31.

Pic of the broken hook?I'd let you know if a repair like mine is possible? My repair sure withstood a few Jeep trails and close to 1K if not more of rough gravel roads.
