K12RS Review From 1998....

Quote:
That left us with the big boys, the Autobahn burning, 100-mile-an-hour traveling, road-devouring, big-bore beasts such as Honda’s ST1100 (winner of our original sport tourer shootout: Smiles Through the Miles), BMW’s road-eating K1200RS, and Triumph’s Trophy 1200.

Re: K12RS Review From 1998....

I owned the ST1100. It was a very comfortable, fast, smooth, and heavy bike. The only negative thing I experienced with the ST, was the amount of heat pumped out from the engine. You would have thought that your legs were straddling a thermo nuclear energy device from the heat that thing put out. Other than that, it was a great bike.

But, now having owned an 03 k1200RS, the K bike is much sportier feeling and handling in my opinion. More character than the ST.

Cheers

The ergonomics are definitely meant more for sport riding than touring, but if
you keep it above 70, the wind holds you up. Ergos? Who needs stinking ergos!

Yeh, we figured that out too!

Re: K12RS Review From 1998....

I remember a review from early on that compared its shape to a "misshapen turd".

I thought that was maybe a little harsh!
