Talking How about a picture of You and your KS?

I know... I do,
...but I am reluctant to go for it and if anyone tells me 'Your Copy-cat'n' .. I might as we have a similar thread at The KGT section.

But please ad a picture of Your KS and Yourself, I will start:

This picture was taken in Sãffle - Sweden in 2006.

Re: How about a picture of You and your KS?

I did not read the thread title well. Here is a picture of me and the bike behind. This is north of Gerlich, Nevada a great lonely road. We just finished some fun riding that included a stretch where we passed the 150 mph barrier for a while. Amazing how the suspension smooths out. beech

Welcome to I-BMW... nice photo, but bare hands and no protective gear... Your son deserves it, even if you choose otherwise...

I want to know WHO DID YOU ASK TO TAKE THE PICTURE?

Will BMW use this in their next promotional ads?

Ok..OK..

My son, 9 at the time of this pic, has only rode with me twice. This was one of those times. My wife, who has never rode with me in 14 years of marrige, kept complaining (her family rides Harley's in a social setting) that I would go to the mountains by myself and leave him at home all the time. He wanted to go soo bad she said. This is because he has seen pictures of my Dad and I riding on BMW's when I was a kid. So after much hen pecking I finally took him. That morning in April we both were suited up to the hilt, gloves included, because it was 35 degrees . That afternoon the high reached 80. 80 is HOT when we were freezing 8 hours earlier. The gear had to come off. We rode 1500 miles in 2 days and he hasn't ask to go back since. I figured that would teach him to cry to mamma.

I agree he shouldn't ride without protective gear if possible. He has plenty of protective grear because he rides dirt bikes, but only so much fits in a tank bag. At the time I didn't have saddle bags so it is what it is. Damned if you do damned if you don't.

Anyway, I don't remember learning how to ride a motorcycle like I don't remember learning how to walk. I figured since I'm new, and folks don't know me, they have jumped to conclusions. So I'll set the record straight. The pic is not the norm, but a special trip between my son and I because it is really the only ride we have ever done together.

He's got 15 months before he turns 14 and get his F650GS. He will get it at 14 because the only riding he will be doing is following my brake light for the 2 years before he turns 16. That's what my Dad did for me. That's how I learned to ride a streetbike. That's how he will learn. The law be damned. That's how much I love my son.

Peace
(off my soapbox)

If I wanted to ride 2 up I'd have a Goldwing.

Wonderful story Michael. Sounds like you keep your young one close with the riding activities. Please stick around and enjoy the forum.
