Not a K1300R.

Originally a K1200R.

It's like I'm cheating on my bike, but I'm not.
No, really, somehow I resist the urge to upgrade bikes every year by constantly working on them. It has worked so far.

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

As I said looks cool..

You have the sport windscreen.
Have you tried other ones?

I droved my bike from dealer yesterday and original screen creates a heavy lift to helmet. I was wondering if sport screen makes it any less?

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

There are Continental Sportattack tyres on. Don't know how sticky thease really are. Yeah, i also like the pattern on them. Don't know what else they have changed from 2009 to 2010 on the bike apart from the tyres.

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

Apart from new handles with better connection points on the circuit boards and ofcourse new software the bike is same as 2009 KR.
I've seen many different tyres on K13R.

I have Metzeler Sportec M3s on and I'm planning to try Contis or the new Michelin Power Pures next.

The tyre selection on the bike is depending on the dealer who sells the bike.

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

Nice pics fellas. I just bought the HP Carbon Engine Spoiler like Spk from Ilmberger along with the read light hugger, and I also bought the HP Carbon front fender, but that's not installed yet as I have to remove the front tire.

Will post those pics very soon!

Thanks. They're from Wunderlich. Mirrors are universal fit and oil radiator mask was from K12R. They have one dedicated for K13R.

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

There are many more S owners than R owners so it stands to reason the S board will get more traffic, and the R owners will gravitate there because the two bikes are very similar.

I suppose

I don't know anyone with K bikes in my area (well i do know 3 around Brisbane but i see tham fairly regular and they aren't part of any forums) so i have nobody to keep in touch with. I did not notice the AU/uNZud link.

Maybe we better start something there ?

I got one about 2 weeks ago. Just the BMW Akrapovic on it yesterday. No pics though. Very different from my RSV, but loving it.

I did get the HP2 version. Once i get the picture the right size I will post it.

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

It will be exactly the same except yours comes with all the goodies that i am having to pay extra for . I'm not complaining though cause with the $2500 factory rebate in place now i can buy all the HP parts and still have the HP lookalike at a better price. I could have had the BMW Akrapovic thrown in but i'm afraid i just don't like it, so chose the Schnitzer Stealth instead.

Is the R-HP numbered like the S-HP ?

Nope, there are no HP markings on it at all. I've been told there are about 7 or 8 HP's in Canada. I did get a good deal on the Akra.

I do want to find smaller, but still useful mirrors.

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

Hate to break it to you but that aint a HP it's an SE (special edition) that comes with the Carbon belly pan and the paint job. Other than that it's all standard.

I have seen a HP version here and it has a small HP logo underneath the K1300R. It has more Carbon and billet goodies as standard items.

As far as mirrors go, i fitted the Rizoma with one major problem, the OEM bar ends have 8mm bolts and all Rizoma stuff comes with 6mm bolts so i had to drill the bars out to 9mm and and tap 6mm inserts into them. I should'nt say it was a major problem, just a pain for a job that should normally take just 5 minutes.

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

It's funny you say that about it being an HP version...or not. I had a chat with my sales guy and said it was strange there is no HP designation. He had no answer. I will have to look into into it further and see if there are any differences for North America.

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

Being a Special Edition means there won't be to many around. I was told by the local Tech guy who has by his words the only R-HP around that only 6 SE's were bought into Australia. Best bet would be to check the BMW website, and make sure your salesman has not pulled one on you.

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

He said 7 or 8 in Canada. I need to find spec sheets for Canada.

Still like the bike though. Rode about 350 km today.

I do like the mirrors, but want to stay away from any drilling. Does the extra width ever bug you?

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

The R is an exceptional bike and i've never been more satisfied with a bike. I'm in the process of getting my seat remodeled and then the package will be perfect.

The Rizoma's are very good and offer clearer vision than the OEM items. Rather than drill them out you could find someone with a lathe and have the bar ends turned down to suit the mirrors, which is what i would have done if i'd have thought of it first.

I've had no problems with lane filtering yet so the extra width is no problem

Hi - I have CRG lane splitters bar end mirrors. They look great are very good quality and fold in (hence the name). To mount them I picked up slotted bar ends from Rhinomoto. They are made specifically to mount these mirrors on the k bike.

The extra width does not bug me at all, actually IMO it accentuates the low profile of the bike... Looks very clean and is a big improvement on visibility ( just don't buy cheep eBay knockoff mirrors or you will see double). I'll post some pic later.

Cheers

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

Torstelaw- if you are looking for a good rizoma supplier I would recommend PJ's Parts. I've purchased alot through them and they have all the rizoma parts for the KR. Thier shipping is very good to Canada!

Re: Let's see YOUR K1300R!

I've recently added $$$$ of HP parts to mine. Just waiting for the final two pieces to complete the puzzle, Hugger and reshaped & recovered seat. Plenty of pictures to come once done.
