Re: Current status

Thanks all,,,as in the other thread i decided to share this with you even its sad, but....i had many thoughts in the hospital in germany for 20 Days,,,2 surgerys and a foot that got destroyd after op 2 beacuse of to tight bandages (compartment syndrome). Complications with stitches and infection with Heavy penicillin cure 15 Days,,,,traveling by flight and ambulance for 400 km total Before landing at home so all that for about 14 hours with the pain from hell.

My mind has gone over the accident a hundred times and many questions to myself why???
no one can answer but me...and answers i dont have. After a while im in Peace in some meaning and well................ This will not stop me from doing what i see bikeriding is.
Freedom, Speed, and the thing of joy when you ride that you cant explain until you just
sit on a bike.

Im fighting every day, every nighthour with pain but one day at the time, one small step...

will let you know forward on myself and perhaps all the knowlegde i have got. with an
accident comes many things. The crasch and its horrible memories itself and so on.

When you get replys from you guys the soul gets brighter and a tear runs down from
my eye.

That sounds very difficult to deal with, keep your spirits up and know that we all understand that an accident can happen in the blink of an eye - please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.

Hey Braggerman. So sorry to read about your woes. I guess the thing is that from your description of the accident things could have been so much worse. Not much comfort I know but hopefully you will be back on your bike again and this will be a thing of the past. Heal quickly.

Hey B-Man! Glad you checked back in. I was wondering how you were getting on.

Really good news you've a new doctor and you're sounding in a positive state. Are the knee screws permanent or just there temporarily?

Re your toe ... don't worry if it doesn't fix and has to come off. You can still ride without it. There is an Australian ex-Grand Prix rider and genuine all-round top bloke (Darryl Beattie) .... who ironically won a copy of German Grand Prix ... who has lost ALL toes when they were sliced off between his chain and sprocket. He now does these seriously epic hard-core adventure tours out of Northern Australia. There's incentive for you - LOL

Anyway, sounds like this new doctor is exactly what you need. Keep your spirits up. It'll be a long road but you will get to the end of it

Do check back in regularly - both on good and bad days.

Re: Current status

Hey B man. I have had lots of screws and pins put in my left knee over the years from skiing wrecks so I know it can be really painful and the rehab can be frustrating. Basically, it really sucks. Hang in there - you have plenty of riding in your future.

Re: Current status

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyyy Guyssssss

Well, a bit silent.... the current status (again) two major screws in the front of my leg is now sticking out and making the progress go slow and more painful. The issue is that the germans want to take them out and the Swedish team that they remain. Also the discussion on who will take the cost for surgery....flight to germany must be funded by my inscurance Company but the surgery by Swedish Health inscurance (government) but if something happens further they dont want any more costs and the germans want in Writing that all costs if problem occure are funded,,,,jippikayjay OK fine...i pay for my own flight if so,,but if i go i am told that i lose my Health pension at the moment.....WTF. Puh.... at the moment the dialog is a bit hmmmmm not going at all,,,hahahaha what a mess. May be i take the offer from the French or the danish who can do the job also im told. update ahead.

Hello Guys

2016-09-22

X Ray last friday and my german doctor in sweden talked to an expert in fractures and also with the german team....progress in bone growth but not as fast as it should due to OP 1 when they did the bone Nail and 5 Days later removed it: takes longer to grow back bone. As for the moment i got a plastic boot to wear and to make some easy load on the leg for two months ahead some progress in that matter. still argumenting on two of the Nails in the front of the leg and who will remove them no closure in that department : Ongoing

and to all of you here...big heart from me ...its pumpin hot oil

As others have told you, hang on and give it time. The body is always repairing itself even if you don't feel it. I have been down to nothing several times in my life, in pain with no hope of recovery and then magically one day things get better and better.

Braggerman, so so sorry to hear of your loss. This certainly has been a year that you will be happy to turn the page on. As hard as it has to feel, dig deep and keep your head lifted cycling brother.

Re: Current status

Your shattered leg, intra government insurance issues and doctors on two different ball teams, you have many reasons to suffer a long recovery. It appears you are healing up and I marvel at your bad fortune and great luck to survive.

It would be good medicine for you to have a bike ready to ride when you are ready to roll. With all the bad, there has to be something good waiting for you.

Continued growing good health to you. Hang in there!

Hang in there pal, the body heals but slowly! The wait is slow but worth it. Take it easy boss, take my word for it! Thinking of your pain if that helps you.

Re: Current status

I know it doesn't seem easy but you have to be really careful. In my case, I barely would get up to go to the bathroom and even though I was careful my screws came out and the metal plate moved. The bones separated by half a cm...
Listen to Bernardo, take it easy.

All the best
