The BMW R nineT Urban G/S.
Eye-catching. Powerful. Air-cooled.
Enjoy the confident feel of a boxer with an upright and relaxed riding position, coupled with modern technology. Choose from countless customizing options for your own unique ideas. The R nineT Urban G/S makes a clear statement: It pays tribute to the early days of BMW Motorrad's G/S success story. Just one look and it's clear that the R nineT Urban G/S captures the off-road spirit of that era. At the same time, its riding characteristics make it a true member of today's R nineT family. It reflects the way of life of that time: People knew where they wanted to go, and they knew exactly how they would get there.

Yes this is a Airhead and the LC platform is now maxed out after 5 years too.
Big changes coming in 2018.

Re: R NINE T URBAN G/S, $12,995

When BMW launches the Triple black, HP2 (Rally in this case) and an exclusive bike, it has been their last year of their current platform in the previous 5 year cycles. They now have major competition in the Boxer LC platform for the likes of KTM, Honda, Triumph and almost all other major manufacturers who have better specs in some cases and are all significantly cheaper.

My bet is that they will react to the market pressures and bring a significantly upgraded Boxer engine of at least 1300 cc capacity and 140hp. We will have to wait and see by November at Eicma. Our current 1200LC's will take a hit in value.
