Erwin,

Sized up the pic and your daughter sure looks like she's having the time-of-her-life riding with you!

Also looks like she just gets her feet down on the passenger pegs!

Thanks for sharing a "family moment"!

You are right about the Motoport part, but it is the Courdura version, When I got my gear I was spending like crazy and saved what I could by going with the Cordura. When I started getting the wife geared uo we went with the Kevlar for her gear!!!!! She is very important to me. I have noticed slight scuffing where my right knee wants to contact the farring, I am trying to not too, perhaps my right leg is longer than my left, although I dont walk in circles!!! When I wear the cordura gear out I will be going for the Kevlar for sure, its alot nicer.

We ride 2up without the side cases they get in the way for my wife, we got the large topbox to help her stay aboard. I really like the looks of the bike without any cases, I normally have the sides on for my commute though.

Thanks for the quick reply! Guess us Motorport types are a different breed - love the armour, comfort. quality and security of these suits.

There is a thread around here somewhere about pads you can place where knees rub the fairing. Sounds slight in your case and maybe you can rub it out with a good cleaner/wax.

Bike does have a longer, sleeker look w/o the cases; and, with the soft tailbag on the rack of my bike, it seems to accentuate the slimmer appearance of the bike as the tail of the bike rakes up at the back.

She is, Miles, she is. When I take a fast turn or accelerate, she's cheering of joy loudly at the back.

Don't have one next to the bike, but how about the same general vicinity, Glenn Canyon, Southern Utah, Navajo Reservation

Re: How about a picture of YOU with your GT?

Hey, pictures taken at night! That might very well be a first on the website!! And, the design/graphics on your X-11 helmet are first rate! (now how did I know it was an X-11? <g>).

That first picture shows how well the headlight works on the GT from the side. Don't know if BMW deliberately designed it this way; but it's a little bonus on the saftey side of the ledger.

Re: How about a picture of YOU with your GT?

One other thing that stands out, I think, is that the top case doesn't need to be painted when the bike is Granite Gray. The silver top looks like it's made for this color bike (of course, painted tops look good, too).

Re: How about a picture of YOU with your GT?

Dwarthog (Don), Taxswami ( Ananth)

You know we've been thru the "dismal deep" with these bikes what with all the various fueling problems and attendant miscues, but whenever there's a pic of someone (or two) on the big "K", they're always waving, smiling and having a genuninely great time! And, in the finaly analysis, that's what we should look for and really what counts.

Twice I've met up with a GT rider on the road and both times it was with great exhuberance and mutual adulation for the bike. (one time, we spent so much time at the gas pump, the gas-pump-lady had to ask us to move off the pump ramp - tht was outside McCall Idaho just after we both descended Whitebird Pass on a sunny, pristine day - and before, it should be added - we got caught at a 45 minute hold-up a few miles down the road just past McCall.

True. Another thing that makes me feel good is that these bikes attract attention like a bikini in a Church. The other day I was attending a parent-teacher conference for my son and had to park my bike in the basketball court of the elementary school because every other spot was full. When I came back, the school's janitors and some other assorted individuals were hovering around. I was a little apprehensive, thinking that something was wrong. Instead, they were just hanging around, hoping to talk with the owner...they too rode bikes. We exchanged war stories and I couldn't but help embellish a little. In the end, they retreated back to the school building, just happy that they now knew someone who rode this awesome German machine. They promised to look out for my son. 'Twas a great evening.

Mike,

Great hi-res pic of you on the bike! Set up like mine too with the bars forward and down, stock, sporty windscreen. And, best of all, you can see the "glint" in your eyes thru the helmet as the picture is being taken. Perfect!

I will have to upload my photo later. After I figure out how to reduce the resolution size. You will just have to use your imagination until then.

Re: How about a picture of YOU with your GT?

Chanto,

It was a total surprise for me to see pictures of two GTs registered for the Bonneville event, that it was posted on this forum a week or so ago.

Your picture is just terrific for this reason: it's a "posture" in which we rarely see the GT!

Rider leaning forward, bars down, bike stripped down, short windscreen at the "stops"!

Hey, the bike even looks small! Dare I say it, almost as "compact" and "sporting" as the K-S/R!!

And yeah, like Spring - love to know your top speed at the speed trials.

By the way, the bike looks like it's very stable at the high speed it was going for the picture.

This thread keeps getting better and better!

Miles

Re: How about a picture of YOU with your GT?

Mark,

You know, there's this sort of irreverant group of riders in mostly Oregon and Northern California who call themselves the "Village Idiots". Almost all of the pictures on their website shows them with the same gesture. In fact the middle finger is their official salute!! <g>

Great photo, by the way - and like you my CGM is equipped with the "short" or standard screen in a very wet climate, but does seem to do the job - if your'e moving!

Greg, The thread lives on. You guys make that GT look sexy. I was looking at an S but after seeing what BeniciaRT_GT can do on one and the fact that it has cruise control could make me change my mind.

Re: How about a picture of YOU with your GT?

This thread sure has traction! Just keeps on going. Fun to see all these picutres.

Brent,

Thanks for the pics of you and your "beautiful bride". The bumble-bee shows off the K-S perfectly, as does the "zebra" colors for the KRS!

James,

Yeah, that's a great pic of Don and his s.o. Love the big wave from the both of them.

Phil,

Your 'Stich is the best and most color-matched of any riding suit for the CGM color, imo. The red for the viz, while the tan seems to go with the bike's color nicely.

desmons,

Don't know if this is true for everyone, but all I see is the dreaded red "x" where your picture should go. Maybe try again?

Miles

Where did you find that url? When I open the pic in the gallery it's the url "http://www.i-bmw.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/4342/cat/500/ppuser/1539" that appears in the window.

By the way, the pic represents my actual official dealer leaning on my former and beloved Krs the day I took delivery of my new Kgt.

Greetings.

I'm using windows, so I'm not going to be much help. When I right-click on the image in the gallery, then click on properties, I get this.

I highlight all the information in that's been circled, and put it between [img] and [/img] tags (no spaces)

Re: How about a picture of YOU with your GT?

Chris,

You prove with your pics that the big-guy can be hustled around these tracks! This is the 2nd GT with track photos on the forum. Benica-rt was the other awhile back.

On that last shot in the sequence, you can plainly see how exposed your right hand is away from the narrow fairing. It's probably why we see discussions on hand guards for the GT.

Ray,

Thanks for uncorking Desmons great shot of his dealer looking as though he'd rather keep the new GT for himself! <g> That's the best pic of a BMW helmet we've seen as well.

Zak,

After talking to the dealer yesterday about "expensive" extended warranties, that black "S" is getting more attention from me - saw one yesterday at the dealer's.

dss,

What else can you say? Literally Cruise Control The World with your hands in the "V" for Victory position!!

Eye.Surgeon,

does look like you've got your "eye" on things around here, thru a neat tinted visor!

You know, this thread was launched way back by our guy, ClearwaterBMW. Really wish he were still around to enjoy the participation. I sure do!! Thanks again, guys!

Miles

Re: How about a picture of YOU with your GT?

Ray,

Just trying to get a rise out of Greg. He's over there on the Chit-Chat forum yaking it up with some of the folks on a - get this - photography contest!! <g>

All the while, we got some great pics right here on the thread he started!

Sort of an irony; well, ok, a funny type irony; really.

And yeah, it's great Greg is back. And, this thread was a neat idea of his as well.

Miles

Ray,

There is no damned right-button on a Mac... So here I am still waiting for a solution.
Any Mac fans over here?

Need some fresh air.

So here's are pictures taken in St Véran, the highest place to live in Europe (6.693 feet above sea...) It's in the French Alps. A wonderfull place to ride.
