1st Ride, maybe a problem already :(

Bike has monster power, rides/handles good but, seems to have a problem of dying when coming to a stop sometimes but, not all the time. Anyway to adjust this? it has a power commander on it somewhere tho not under the seat, where else would it be hiding? the quickshifter works really well happy with it. I also have a gs911 coming in monday maybe that can tell me something, or anyway to adjust the idle with it? Lastly it has 20900miles, the 18k service has been done but, the service is staying on by the odometer, what could that mean?

I'm sure this can be all sorta out (i hope )

Can't help you with the engine dying sometimes as you slow down. i was more interested in the statement that the quick shifter works fine. It's news to me that the K12 ever had a quick shifter!

It's aftermarket he had it installed with the power commander. But, it works great.

Probably a quick shifter issue, disconnect it and see if the problem comes back.

The stalling when coming to a stop or pulling in the clutch was a known issue with the k1200s bikes. Software upgrades and airbox replacement were alleged fixes but neither solved the stalling problem on my 2006 KS.

The Power Commander may be located under one of the little rear quarter panels just under the seat & grab handles. That's where I put mine.

Re: 1st Ride, maybe a problem already :(

Do a search for stalling in the advanced search and choose the K1200S field to drill down. You will find that you have a hot rod bike. They are difficult around town and fast on the road. As mentioned there were service bulletins on them for a software up date for the stalling and new airbox for idle issues. Some bikes do will with the up dates. The power commander was someones attempt to remedy these problems. It may be best to start fresh with out it. Also in the GS-911 is an "idle air calibration" I suggest you run this too. (in addition to checking other functions like O2 sensor working properly, you need to plot a running graph which is easy). Be sure you have stock paper airfilters and not too crazy exhaust that causes lean running issues. There are many hours of reading about your bike in the pages of 2006 through 2010 in the K bike files. You will learn a lot.

Re: 1st Ride, maybe a problem already :(

Had a similar issue when i first rode my K1200S. Stale fuel was the culprit. The bike had been run quite low on fuel and left standing for several months. Not helped by the garage that sold it to me putting in half a gallon or so of 95 RON fuel. Mine stalled at a roundabout on a busy Sunday morning. Once I got it going again, I headed for the nearest garage and filled up up with 99 RON fuel. End of problem. I have filled her up twice with the high octane stuff, and no more stalling! May be worth a try

Re: 1st Ride, maybe a problem already :(

The dying could be the tuning of your power commander.
They give you adjustable performance at the cost of some finesse.
Yours may not be tuned they way you want.
