SGR Meet & Greet

Ladies and gentlemen, I've been a bit remiss in my SGR responsibilites lately due to overwhelming "life" responsibilities... then my recon officer broke his freakin' leg... ... it's hard to find good help these days...

Anyway, I think our group in Downieville will be small enough, plus arriving at different times, that a "Meet & Greet" will be unnecessary, especially since we have the Riverside Inn to ourselves!! So my thoughts... Wednesday, with the anticipated disparity in arrival times, we can probably fend for ourselves for dinner. Thursday perhaps we can meet for dinner at the Gallows... and Friday at the Grubstake... nothing "mandatory"... just some ideas. I don't want anyone to feel that they are required to do anything other than what they want... and have a great time doing it!! That's about the extent of our choices, except for breakfast at the Coyoteville Cafe, 1/4 mile away... everything else is within short walking distance...

http://www.downievillecarriagehouse....l_eateries.htm

Now, on to Sonora. I think we should have a Meet & Greet on Sunday morning at 10 AM in the lobby of the Days Inn. Last year, we had it at 9 AM and some of the pussies... I mean riders, complained it was too early. So let's plan on gathering in the lobby at 10 AM. Also, it might be nice to have a group dinner Sunday evening... I was thinking at Christophers, the Italian restaurant next to the lobby. We can discuss it at the Meet & Greet.
See you all in a few days!!

Re: SGR Meet & Greet

One great thing about having base camp in Sonora is that all types of facilities are within short walking distance. Within 1 or 2 blocks there are several restaurants.... Italian, Mexican, bar-b-que... just about anything you want. On Saturday, I think everyone will be arriving at different times, so it's kind of hard to plan anything. We can figure things out when we get there... I think it will be pretty easy to identify the members of our group, as they'll probably arrive on motorcycles, and there's a good chance they'll be BMWs...

And as for you, Mr. Illuvator, if you were expecting a rally where your days & nights are all planned out for you, this ain't it...

One thing about I-BMW rallies is that you're not likely to find anyone around base camp during the day. Most folks are out putting in 200+ mile days in various groups, speeds, and routes. You'll see people returning from their day's rides later on in the afternoon, and reconvening for the evening socialization...

Uh...I don't think I qualify as "small" ... and I didn't get the pink-colored cast for a reason.

Just sayin'

I left yesterday and I am working my way down the coast. It rained buckets all morning and got better as the day progressed. Stopped in a town called Gold
beach. ( Oregon) for the night. Sunny and nice. Life is good. California #1 tomorrow.

Will see Charlie, No rooms last time I checked. Made it to Santa Cruz tonight. Afternoon traffic through San Francisco was brutal. Six big saves with the radar detector on the coast so far. I love that thing!

LA is off the list. I hate traffic and with my luck I would make a wrong turn and end up in Watts or some other really nice neighbor hood.

Thats the best time to go.lower rates and better limits on the tables. Reno is a little closer to the final destination (like next door).

I posted this so that Charlie could have a brief visitation with an old girlfriend - not the big fat guy in the yellow suit - the little one liter chick in shiny black. At a NESBA track day last Sunday.
