Cobra Auspuff in Deutschland Gemacht!

Just ordered a Cobra SP2 Slip-on Muffler for my K1300S:

https://www.cobraexhaust.de/Motorcycle-exhaust_2505

- Made in Germany
- low weight
- removable DB Killer
- super-light holder
- corrosion-resistant construction
- 3 years warranty
- full sound

I was hoping I could order this from Cobra USA (https://cobrausa.com/) but they only sell Cruiser Exhausts. Cobra Exhaust USA is a separate, non-affiliated company.

I keep you posted how it goes...

Re: Cobra Auspuff in Deutschland Gemacht!

Finally got the new Cobra SP2 Slip-On Exhaust from Germany. Shipped price was $470 and it took 11 days to get here. It has a removable dB Killer and is obviously lighter than the OEM Electrolux/Boat Anchor!

I tried a full-throttle, shift at redline, take-off run through the gears and the front end began to lift off the ground ~9500 RPM in 1st gear. I always have Traction Control engaged and the front end would never lift off with the OEM Muffler.

Lastly, there's no interference with the right side BMW Sport Bag.

Here's a pic:

Thanks for posting the pic Joe.

Well, I suspect it's likely the same as any other Stock K1200/K1300 with an aftermarket Can...I mean really, what can you expect with a dB Killer in place and that Electric Butterfly immediately up stream?

OTOH, it's quiet during steady state throttle, and a little louder than Stock when accelerating. I like it that way.

They sell an identical looking SP2 Off-Road "Race" version but, being prudent, I didn't go for that. They also sell the SP2 in a shortened Can version (300mm length versus mine 350mm). Actually they sell 30 different models of Slip-Ons for the K1300R/S and there's variations within each model (CF/Steel/Black/Chrome/etc.). A much varied selection if you ask me.

All-in-all I'm very happy with it for the following reasons:

1. Less weight that is noticeable during swervy maneuvers.
2. My "seat of pants" Dyno says it's a little quicker now (prolly due to less weight).
3. It's smaller than the OEM Titanic Boat Anchor.
4. My Riding Buds have said nice things about it so far.

I'm not surprised - if I tried that on mine, I'd do a 180 loop and need a new rear number-plate . . .

At 80 characters long this may be the longest German Word:

Donaudampfschifffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunte rbeamtengesellschaft - not sure why the webpage put a space between "e r"?

"Association for Subordinate Officials of the Head Office Management of the Danube Steamboat Electrical Services".

Re: Cobra Auspuff in Deutschland Gemacht!

I've been looking at Other's posts about their Aftermarket Slip-On Mufflers. Maybe I've missed a few, but nearly all of them are larger in diameter and length versus mine (Can length 350 mm with a Diameter of 100 mm).

I'm really liking the smaller profile. It's the Anti-Electrolux Unit. Unfortunately, I was so hasty to put it on that I didn't weight it versus the OEM Boat Anchor. Cobra also has a 300 mm length option for this Model (SP2) as well as other Models in their extensive line-up for the K1300 R/S.

Lastly, I said it before but bears repeating - it has a 3-Year Warranty.
