2005 K1200S 5500 miles yes or no?

Hi guys

I have located a pristine '05 with a mere 5500 miles. It has a few recalls outstanding which will be carried out FOC by my local dealer.

Should I go for it or hold out for an early 1300?

John

Re: 2005 K1200S 5500 miles yes or no?

John, the '05 was the first year of the "slant" motor bikes, there were lots of issues with those bikes, some dealt with by recalls, others, in BMW's fashion ignored and denied. If I were you, and if you could, I'd hold out for the 1300, lots of improvements and fewer issues, one being the abandonment of the electrically operated servo assist ABS system.

I have a 2006 K1200S and without a doubt I'd hold out for a K1300...

I had a 2005 and it was a total POS. Caveat emptor...

Re: 2005 K1200S 5500 miles yes or no?

John

I purchased one last summer with just 12000 Km on the clock, had it inspected by dealer, what they could they did, I had new tires installed, I put on a new slip on, have enjoyed the bike so far

Maybe I have a good one maybe I have a bad one, but time will tell and if turns into a POS, well I can try to get rid of it ad luck my wounds or fix it if possible and continue enjoying it

So it's 3 against, and lonely me on the opposite side, but you need to decide, my reason for this one, well I didn't have the funds for the 1300 at the time.
