Getting my Cooley ready for another season

The Cooley has been getting some needed maintenance in the last month...I have now put 10,000 miles on it in two years..valve adjustment, new plugs, carbs dissembled and cleaned, stainless steel brake lines, rear pads, took the windscreen off the fairing and wet sanded and polished it...came out great!
Also ordered new hardware for it...
Also finally I had the exhaust ceramic coated...no more taking it off and painting it every year. Turned out great!
Riding it to California again this May...

Re: Getting my Cooley ready for another season

Not sure what changed but I can no longer view Photobucket pictures on my desktop computer using Firefox or Chrome.
I can view the pictures on my android tablet.

Edit: I cleared the cache and installed a add on for photobucket. Still no luck.

The bike looks fantastic of course that is because of all your hard work getting and keeping it perfect.

Re: Getting my Cooley ready for another season

Looking soooo good! I so liked the ~1" rise low bars of that Model - perfect bend too. I put a set on my '78 Yamaha XS750 back in the day.

Years and years ago, a Riding Buddy had a '78 GS1000E and I rode it a couple times. It was "falling off a log" easy to navigate corners. It had the IRC GS11-AW Tires too I think. I had the '78 Yamaha XS750E at the time and his GS1000 felt lighter, for sure faster, and handled way better.

We did many trips in the Desert Southwest back then. One time his Alternator went out and we swapped Batteries every Tank full so he could keep going while my Yamaha recharged the depleted Battery.

Yes I have always been a Suzuki guy...great handling bike for sure....the charging system of these old GS Suzuki's are their Achilles Heel.....once you get that sorted they are one of the most reliable bikes on the planet. The engine is way over built...a reason they are still used by pro drag racers to this day.
