Opinions: Modified Motorsport Colours

Hi,

My first post here. I have a 2011 lupin blue K1300S which I absolutely love and would like to get a newer K13S with low miles, while it is still being made. I like the motorsport version but have never been completely set on the colour scheme. I don't like the red accent lines, so I thought I would have a play on Photoshop.

Firstly I have switched out the front mudguard to a carbon fibre one. Then I have changed the red stripe to a few different colour options.

Opinions? Also, I know nothing about paint - is it possible to just do these bits or would it be a complete respray?

Try closing out of chrome and then going back into the site and see if you can open them then?

Thanks for opening the photos Bruce, at least that way they're visible. As a test of the links, I did close out the Chrome browser, and re-opened it to no avail, the photos wouldn't open on my iPad either, nor on IE, go figure

Yes and do it with 3M vinyl so it can always be undone.

I like the look of the carbon fibre and it would tie in with the mudguard. I'll take a look at the 3M tape.

I like the original the best. Make any changes and everyone will know it's not right. I would leave it alone or redo it completely. Just my thoughts.

I voted for the Lupin Blue but I agree with Joe, Black is the best (only) color

"Black" is a "shade"...not really a "Color"..same as "White"...

Oh yea..left off Gold/Silver/Bronze & Copper...those Color accents would be nice to see...

Re: Opinions: Modified Motorsport Colours

I like the original red the best.

To me, that's what makes it a MotorSports edition.

Maybe add some small red farkles to bring out the red stripe some more.

Red, braided brake lines.

Possibly red wheel stripes? (although those are sometime a love it or hate it affair)

Just a bit of red to tie it all together.

JMHO.

Good luck with whichever you decide

Since Lupine Blue seems to be the most popular alternative, why not add even more Lupine Blue until you have the most handsome paintwork offered on the K1300S...........

Hi Dank

My opinion is, apart from the original red, I cannot tell the difference between the others without having to look REALLY close (i.e. they all look the same to me).

Hey Guys,

Before I bought this my K1300S I tried to find the color scheme online to see what edition it is but I couldn't find it anywhere.

Anyone see this color scheme before?

Just had my silver K1200R fork covers painted to match blue on BMW logo. Looks good to me, am going to take it back for some more accents in same color. Not going to touch tank though. I'll post pics when done. My daughter saw it for the first time yesterday as she has been away at school, said it makes bike look new, amazing what a little paint will do.

I agree. The Motorsport Edition is the nicest paint job of them all. I don't think it has been improved.

Re: Opinions: Modified Motorsport Colours

Can anyone photo shop the wheels a different color? One photo in blue, one in red, and one in white?

Re: Opinions: Modified Motorsport Colours

I have wondered what my Red K1300S would look like in Yellow:

The original colour is great..........execpt for the stupid reversed decal on the tank
which I fixed by covering it with tank grips

I actually must admit getting rid of the red band makes a huge improvement.
Probably the best colour add in would be the darkest option. Even just Black in side the gap would improve it. The red band just offsets the entire image. The full red version of the K is great but the little red band just doesn't fit.
Just sayin.

the original colors are the best IMHO
