Re: Michael Dunlop

Interesting, I was hoping he'd be back on the BMW for this year, he clearly is the class of the field at the IOM, which is simply an amazing place to hold a race, talk about having large cojones!

Re: Michael Dunlop

It would have been nice if he stayed with BMW but this Yamaha deal looks real good. One day I want to get there while I can still stand on my own and before they stop this event(which I hope never happens).

I like everything involving motorcycles from dirt to ice to pavement but the IOM is something else.

Re: Michael Dunlop

I don't know Dunlop but my impressions and feed back tell me he's not an easy guy to get on with if you want him to fit into the corporate bullshit thing of so many PR appearances etc plus the fact I think he's on a bit of a Rossi mission by trying to prove it's him and not the bike so he'll ride anything.

I do know someone who is a mechanic in the team and he tell's me this year as opposed to previous is all but full factory with the new R1.

Re the TT I have a love hate relationship with it despite having friends who live on IOM have only been twice hey it's dangerous going as a spectator on a bike and hence why on mad sunday they make it one way over the mountain but if you looking for things to do on your bucket list you'll want the TT two weeks before the NW200 which for me is the real Mcoy as it's roads and a massed start but I'm being a bit of a hypocrite here because it's just as dangerous and the 3rd is a Euro GP which will either be Mugello or Jerez but any of those 4 races expect a culture shock.

Re the TT you need to be a year in advance for bookings etc even we have to be over here.

Re: Michael Dunlop

BMW probably dropped or reduced their program ... so he had to look elsewhere (wouldn't be the first time BMW did this )

Re: Michael Dunlop

i'm talking about "Factory" support.
as far as i remember, Dunlops last year machine was more or less a WSBK "factory" machine.

the bikes this year are probably all, more or less, bikes managed by BMWs "customer racing support" department, or however they have named that this year ;o|

Re: Michael Dunlop

TT bikes are a world away from anything else the team that ran the same factory spec bikes in BSB have lost the support and Tyco that have always been the factory Suzuki arm have jumped ship to BMW with factory support for BSB and all the Road Races their Northern Irish and you can bet good money that Dunlop wouldn't take orders from Philip Neil or his Father
