Intro at last

Hi from WA

My names Richard. Ex South African. Come from a motorcycle mad family and first rode at age 11. First bike was a Garelli 80cc Moped, progressed to Triumph Tiger 110 with a cast iron head (piece of shit) and then on to 750cc Suzuki GT (Water bottle Purple and White), then to other brands including Ducati and Moto Guzzi. Love affair with Guzzi lasted a long time.

In my garage are two BMW K1300R's. Older one has 121,000 kms and the other 51,000 kms.I have ironed out most of the smaller issues and some big ones and the now the best bike I have ever had.

Photos to follow

Richard

Re: Intro at last

Welcome to iBMW Richard! Great to talk on the phone last night, you answered all my rally questions and comments well.
1. Can you ride 400-500km of twisty road a day....yes
2. We don't suffer fools very well...... understood
3. Will you sigh a waiver...... that's ok

Your question... "I hope you guys drink"
My answer.... "all day"

Go back and read the rally threads Richard, you will get an idea what we get up to.

2 x K1300R..... awesome!
Have you had to an major work on the one with more KM's? Has the cam chain been done and at what kms.

Re: Intro at last

G’day Richard

I’ve got an ex pat South African friend who was telling us a story one day about driving in South Africa and getting pulled off by a female police officer

A while later we realised he meant “pulled over”

So my question to you, and one which Kiwimat should have asked is,
Have you been pulled off by a police officer?

Richard,
I see you're not new here. But great intro. At first I thought you were from WA, Washington. Welcome.

Re: Intro at last

Welcome Richard. If we keep this up we might eventually outnumber our US / Canadian cousins.

Paul Mogs has some great tuning tips for the K13R, like put a fairing on the bloody thing!
I think Mat's question about having any work done was more related to yourself... are you intact? How's the skin thickness and sense of humour? If your planning on the Oz rally be sure to give your kidneys plenty of notice.
And if you haven't been pulled off by a police ocifer (hic) then our resident Doc sounds happy to oblige...
