SPOILER - French MotoGP

FP1 and FP2 in the books...

I think MM has a particular interest in a good result at Lemans since it has traditionally been a "Yamaha" circuit.

I look for a good battle between the Yamaha trio and MM. Dovi continues to look strong as well.

I am anxiously waiting for an electronic package update Rossi keeps wanting. I want to see some hard racing and no more excuses.

Speaking of which... Mat Oxley with another interesting article regarding possible rule changes and electronics.

MotoGP’s next electronics ban

Dorna is so convinced that most teams are fiddling their ECU sensory systems that it will banish tailormade IMUs from 2019

Re: SPOILER - French MotoGP

It was back in '88 that Christian Sarron, from France sat on the Lemans MotoGP pole. Well, today his countryman, Johann Zarco joins him in that rank, congrats, Zarco, and if you can make that Yamaha go, what gives with Rossi and Vinales?

Crutchlow had a big high side in Q2 and is getting medical checks.

And who wants to guess how many laps go by before Marquez takes the lead and disappears into the distance, I only see a crash, or a mechanical or tire defect stopping him.

Johann Zarco takes home pole position for the French MotoGP at Le Mans.

Re: SPOILER - French MotoGP

9 riders UNDER the previous lap record of Jorge Lorenzo set in 2016...

incredible.

Rossi on Zarco's pace compared to the factory boys.

"Zarco was fast today, also in the other races. He rides very well and is also very fast in the race pace," Rossi said. "We don’t know exactly [why], but we know he's faster than us!"

Sitting down to watch the race.

Must say that france has some of the nicest umbrella girls... just behind the US motogp.

I think I saw Iannone catching an eyeful of the one on his grid spot.

Re: SPOILER - French MotoGP

Hmm! Looks like the promise of the "9 riders under the previous lap record" kinda of fizzled out. While I am in awe of how MM managed and won the race, I can't say I am happy that his so-called opponents handed it to MM on a silver platter. Because he doesn't need that. I tell ya...I get the feeling that his opponents are as much in awe of him as are his ardent fans (Petrucci said he was happy to just follow him; Iannone said he was laughing inside his helmet when he momentarily passed MM in Austin). And that's not a good thing if the goal is exciting races. Maybe he needs to be permanently banned from starting on the first two rows? (chuckle chuckle)!

Re: SPOILER - French MotoGP

The amazing thing is that he is the ONLY Honda in the top 7 in the championship standings. The next highest being Crutchlow at 8.

Yamaha in 2, 3, 4 is interesting. A combination of the opposition(Ducati) crashing out but also fairly consistent results from the basic chassis/engine combo.

I tell you, if Yamaha figures out the traction/electronics issues, there will be more exciting racing to come.
