Ageless design of the K 12 Series

It amazes my how often I am asked if these two bikes are recent releases from BMW Motorrad. The K1200S is a 2006 model and the K1200R 2008. The designs just don't seem to date.

These pictures are created by multiple 10 second exposures composited together in Photoshop. The light source is a handheld LED Wand. used to effectively paint with light

Re: Ageless design of the K 12 Series

It amazes me that lots of people still don't know BMW produces motorcycles. I ran into someone a few days ago that when they saw my GS was surprised to find out BMW makes bikes. Then there are those folks that are aware but only familiar with boxer engine bikes so when they see the KS they think it's a new model. Great pictures

Re: Ageless design of the K 12 Series

I'm a fan of the design, too... Well balanced visually.. The tail light was the only design fuck-up but that's correctable. Sad to see the series discontinued, but c'est la vie..

I, too still get asked if my 2006 KS is a new model... Jaws drop when I tell them it's 12 years old.. Always brings a smile to my face.....

Nice photography work, btw... Best I've seen in a long while. It seems like the populace has mostly abandoned real cameras for phones.. We get a lot of pictures sent to us to use in our newsletters and I've noticed a drastic decrease in the quality over the last few years.. Sad.

Re: Ageless design of the K 12 Series

Beautiful pics, the 12 and 13S are so much better looking than any other current model BMW with a fairing.

Great pictures! And yes, these machines are pretty for sure. I'm not sure which one was best, the checker (k1200RS), the blue and white (I owned the same color K1200S) or the Black K1300S.

Re: Ageless design of the K 12 Series

I got a lot of compliments on my 99 Silver and Blue KRS, I loved that look but liked the nose piece they used a few years later better.
