Another K1300S HP owner

#281 Here;

Picked it up last week and I have to say it's the best of the four k bikes I've owned. I had an '00 K1200RS, '07 K1200S and '09 K1300S before this one. The '09 had a bad flat spot at 5k that was never worked out of the bike, despite all the software updates. By comparison, the HP moves out well with no issues.

I still have to get used to the size since I just got rid of a Ducati 1098 (my bucket list bike), but the HP is an easier bike to live with day to day.

These are nice looking bikes. I hope it does not signal the end of the like for the 4 cylinder k series. Grumpy, what are the ducati fans going to do when their bikes are made by Volkswagen? Looks like Audi is going to buy the duck company.

Thanks for all the compliments. I have about 400 miles on it and will be making my Saddle Sore 1000 attempt next month if all goes well. This is the perfect bike to make that attempt.

Hi Welshman advice please. Cotswold tell me that if they fit bar risers for me. It might void my warrantie. Sounds like Borrox to me. They have passed the German tuv test. If this is correct then what about a sat nav or different brake levers. Or rear hugger. Got to be Borrox. Your advice wanted as you worked there. Cheers. 600 service due drop off sat pick up courtesy bike then pick up mine following week as no service on satadays

GOG

Suggest you speak to Jenny and ask her to check with BMW UK. You should have a look yourself at the Warranty T&Cs. I can't see how bar risers could invalidate a warranty.

I had my risers installed before they handed over my bike. Fitting them should have nothing to do with voiding warranty. Checked with BMW FIN, as well.

Re: Another K1300S HP owner

Oki Doki, panic over, it was the case of a new salesman (need i go on?) Talked to the guvnor now sorted. Well it was, I have to do 100mls tomorrow before del for 600ml service. Now what could be a problem with that you may ask. Well those underpayed Tanker Drivers (42,000 pound a year ) underpayed??? Are talking of going on strike. Nothing wrong with that. But all the idiots are buying up and emptying the Fourcourts. So at the moment i aint enough petrol in my tank to get to gloucester. Am off out with bike to see if i can find a garage with some petrol. If i cant find some i will have to cancell next weeks service and fitting of Bar Risers (Bo**ocks) Went to the dealers with my truck on way home to pick up my Free??!!! Rear Paddock Stand. They had my old Diavel in the showroom. Blimey they will never sell it at that price. 11,900. THATS NEARLY THE PRICE OF A NEW ONE. And its a year old with only 1yr left on the Warrantie. and one year aint advisable with a Ducati . Now wheres my Syphon Pipe.

Nice bike Ron! Likewise I left a Ducati 1098r to come back to a K. Who knew?

Love the Akrapovic on the HP and the color scheme.

enjoy!

Hi Emmby,
198 is in La Jolla. I've been day dreaming about ridding up the
coast to San Fran! How are the rides up there? I've heard they
are incredible! My only excuse is the 5 and 101 up to Morro.
Considering a trailer! Really dislike the drive through and out
Of LA!

Re: Another K1300S HP owner

I heard on a very loose grapevine that my local dealer had one and was selling it for $24,000, so of course i went there to buy it but the truth was number 008 is for sale by tender and will obviously go to the highest bidder. With an RRP of $37,000 it's way out of my reach.

I was told only 8 made it to Australia so i'd be curious to know what numbers the other 7 were.

Another K1300S HP owner

Welcome, Ron!

The HP is seriously sweet gear.

I've got a 2009 K13S with the HP goodies on it, the Akropovic can, the pegs, the screen, and a general sprinkling of carbon. So it's sorta like an HP!

And I know what you mean about swapping it for the Ducati. The K13S is so fast that it scratches my sportbike itch, even though she's a bit of a heavy girl.

Congrats Ron. Beautiful bike indeed. I too had several K's from a '99 K1200RS to a '06 K1200S
I too sold my 08 1098S and regret selling it. Its true the K is a better all around bike but for sheer fun, the 1098 really did it for me. Oh well. Not the end of the world.
That HP has everything you will need/want .
Enjoy it!!
