Re: Me and my K1300R Carbon E

Worked last night (my part time job that pays for my motorcycle addiction lol)
It was a beautiful night here so I decided to take a ride around the inner harbour on my break.

Re: Me and my K1300R Carbon E

Great day at work today. I went up Island to Courtenay to tour a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Ctr. About 460kms round trip. They were calling for rain but the day turned out great. Really loving the bike, 26,500kms on it in over 15 months. Brilliant bike!

And a nice soup and sandwich on the way home. Nothing like being paid to ride your bike.

Great pictures mate! They're amazing bikes, and when you get paid to ride them, well, what can I say? Perfect world

Re: Me and my K1300R Carbon E

Went and made an appointment at my stealer for the 30,000 (18,000) service yesterday. It's going to be $1000.
As of yesterday it was 17 months to the day since I bought it and the odometer turned 31,000kms (19,000 miles). Not bad for living in Canada eh?
Looking to also install my fourth set of tires. Going with the Pilot 4GT again as I got around 15,000kms out of them.

And the bike just keeps getting better.

What a day it turned out to be here...pouring rain in the morning and then it turned into a sunny day and 20 (70) degrees!

Do you have traction control; Trevor? Wet leaves would offer a heck of a test pad.

Great to see you're as stuck on your Kr as I

Lol...yes I do. And as a matter of fact I did try it out yesterday. Works fine.
And I am very "stuck" on my bike. So much fun to ride!

Re: Me and my K1300R Carbon E

Sun came out today so took my son for a ride on the beemer. It was a little cool but dressed right it was great to be out!
He managed to talk me into Starbucks Hot Chocolate and cookies. No, we weren't offended by the red cups. lol

This is in Brentwood Bay close by our house....really like this spot.

When we got home we had some fun with my boy feeling what it's going to be like in another 3 years. Lol....don't worry he won't be riding the beemer as his first bike. I think he looks like a natural!

I then went out on my 750 to get some cob webs off of it....

Re: Me and my K1300R Carbon E

I took advantage of the nice day and rode up to Mill Bay for lunch. 8 bikes including mine at the Serious coffee and saw a good number out on the highway too.
Decided it was so nice that I took the Mill Bay ferry home.

waiting for the ferry...

How was the Fish and Chips? I was at the Serious Coffee this morning. I was checking out the closing out sale at the motorcycle Clothing store. I rode the k bike yesterday but there was lots of de-icer on the roads. We need some rain to wash that stuff away.

Yeah not happy about the liquid de-icer crap.

I overheard the sales person talking to a customer that they were looking to move closer to Victoria. Good luck with your surgery wait.

And a game changer on many levels! But with air cooling, dual petcocks and CV carburetor fueling technology 100 hp was yet to be savored.

Trevor, hieudd. What kind of; and mileage/wear are you getting from those tires? Any cupping between lateral sipes?. Confident when pushing it? Do you more often carve than cruise, or the converse?

Thanks for feedback

I really like the pr4 tire. I'm on my 3rd set. I'm getting about 10 to 12,000kms (6400 to 7500 miles) out of the tires...maybe more. I am definitely more of a carver than cruiser. I am hard on tires as I do lots of twisties and love to accelerate hard.
I have gone with the GT model the last couple of tires...harder side wall for more wear and I have noticed no performance difference.
As you have seen from my posts I also ride in the rain...a lot...and have never experienced slippage.
As for cupping...I know some have had it but I have not.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Trevor

Re: Me and my K1300R Carbon E

Hit a milestone yesterday...40,000kms in 2 years and 20 days.
This bike continues to impress me on a daily basis. I have absolutely no desire to replace this bike...ever. I really see myself keeping it and never selling it. My first brand new bike in 30 years...it's been worth the wait!

to hit that 40k mark yesterday, I was of course riding in the rain...lol..so today I gave her a bath.

That's my little buddy Oreo... My rescue dog...got her as a pup. She is pet therapy certified and I can take her into the hospitals with me on my daily rounds when I'm not on my bike. She's a great dog!

Trevor, an optical illusion, or is your temp gauge nearly at the top of the range?

Re: Me and my K1300R Carbon E

I had to go up to Cobble Hill today to meet with some clients...it was 16 (62) and sunny today...just beautiful! So rode the beemer (nothing like getting paid to ride you bike plus milage ) up there and was finished by noon so I rode over to Cowichan Bay for lunch. Hilary's is a favorite spot of mine, delicious cheeses...

A lovely lunch....you can see the guy by his Triumph Daytona...he sat at the table beside me...from Naniamo and had to get out for a ride...really nice guy...he's a paramedic that works in the Alberta oil patch..2 weeks on two weeks off.

Got home around 3....and took the 83 out for a little spin too....great day to be alive!!

Re: Me and my K1300R Carbon E

Wed I caught the 11am ferry to the mainland and headed up to Whistler. I had an Addictions Conference to attend for a couple days. And yes the irony of an addictions conference in Whistler does not escape me...lol...
I really wanted to ride my bike, the road to Whistler (Sea to Sky) is awesome!!! so I obsessively checked the forecast and thought my window was good...

The other side of Whistler..

My hotel..

The first night there...lol

Re: Me and my K1300R Carbon E

I bought my bike new in January 2014 and today I brought it into my dealer for the 60,000km service and I am putting my 5th set of tires on...good thing I saved up...lol...actually my dealer is doing the 60k service for free ($11-1200) because of a scratch they put in my carbon belly pan on the last service. I always say "don't judge by a mistake but by how it's taken care of"....and they always give me a loaner.
