MPH per 1000 RPM

Hi

Sorry to obsess, but can anyone with a K1200S tell me what mph they are doing when pulling exactly say 4000 rpm ( or 5000 rpm if law allows) in 6th gear?

I'm convinced that my new-to-me K1300S has different gearing from my (now sold) K1200S, despite what the workshop manuals say . . .

Many thanks, David

Re: MPH per 1000 RPM

The K1200S has 3 different transmissions with different ratios.

Defective K 1200 gearboxes were exchanged for K 1300 gearboxes <- Google-Translate

I think 4000 RPM ~ 62-64 MPH (100-105 KM/h)

1150-1200 RPM ~30 KM/h (18 MPH)

Re: MPH per 1000 RPM

Hi David

Is difficult to know exactly the rate RPM / Speed, because there are some factors, as example the rear tyre diameter, or if it's new or with less diameter.

I don't know if it's possible to have a camera like gopro and a GPS to see the real speed, if you can , make a video that you can see the precise speed at precise engine RPM . when you see the video you will have a good approximation.

If you can't, I can do it , but insist, depending on the rear tyre, and in my case I have a K1300R, with different transmission

Re: MPH per 1000 RPM

At 4,200rpm on my K12R is 70mph, 71mph. Based on the speedo and middle aged tyres. Yes, itnis a K12R but a K12S and the newer K13S would most likely be faster.

That's just how i see it.

See? It must be the Coriolis effect
Admins, you MUST have Bernardo go to England and resolve the matter

And I'm ready to help
