Re: k13 code reader ?

still sorting the wheat from the chaff... give me a few days and I'll post links ... but it looks like one would need an adapter and Bluetooth thing to stick in it so software on an Android or Apple can pick it up ...German software works with most BMW ... I'd post the links I've found but they aren't on this device, won't be home for a few days...if you search you will find them 😁

Re: k13 code reader ?

Go to http://motoscan.de.
I'm using the OBDLink LX with adapter cable from Amazon.ca and have had no trouble using it with my 2006 K1200GT. Nothing fancy yet, but switched from Imperial to metric measurement and turned off the brake pad warning light. I will attempt to calibrate and install a new fuel sensor strip this winter.
Added bonus, the OBDLink LX also works with my car using the downloaded manufacturers software.

Total price less than CAN $250 with the pro software.

Extra added bonus, starting in 2017 (not sure exactly) the adapter cable is no longer needed as all vehicle manufacturers are supposed to use the standardized plug system.

Re: k13 code reader ?

yes that was my favorite, thanks for that Grumpa... what hardware did you use ? I mean the Bluetooth dongle. I'm thinking you could get away with any of the many available .

Re: k13 code reader ?

I'm using the ScanTool 427201 OBDLink LX. Very small, carry it with me all the time. Interesting price now, because I bought it on June 12, 2018 for $74.02 and the adapter was another $25.73

Re: k13 code reader ?

This app is great.
I use the unicarscan usci-2000 obd adapter, it was made by the app creator so it is 100% compatible with Bmw bikes.
