Firing on one cylinder

Hi All, I had my R 1150 RT (2004) Stood in the rain and snow the other day at work (had no choice) and when I came to start it up it only fired on one cylinder, so I set off anyway and it was popping and juddering for about 10 mins then all of a sudden everything was fine, now I am assuming that water has got in somewhere, has anyone got any ideas how I can prevent this from happening again ? And please don't say don't leave it in the rain ! Cheers all 🤔

Re: Firing on one cylinder

How about a lightweight nylon cover for the bad days. Also keeps people from messing with it. Check your ignition wiring and when putting the connections back together use Di-electric grease to seal them. You can put it right in the connectors and metal parts when you put things together. Even the connectors for the spark plugs them selves, pull them off put some of said grease on the spark plug connector and insulator and put the cap back on. The stuff is silicone based so it is heat resistant. Examples:

I change your tires, you buy them on the web, I do the work $40, trying to keep riders on the road.

Re: Firing on one cylinder

I had that issue with my old BSA 441 Victor. Firing on one cylinder. It took a week of fooling around until I realized I only had one cylinder. Sheesh.
