Mike, it was epic rain here last week - like the seen in Forest Gump when Lt. Dan was yelling at God, and then he showed up. 5" in one day and 8" for the second half of the week. It broke a 20 year record for rainfall.

So, since it pissed on you guys the whole time, how was the drinkin' and wenchin' ?

Wow, as much as I enjoy riding in the rain, It looks like I picked a good year to take the wife back to Italy. In the last 5 weeks, the worst weather has been fog and wet roads. Oh yea, it got up to 82 deg. one day!

Did someone ask for pictures?

Re: 2018 BRPR May 17th - May 20th

In lieu of the BRPR, me and a few friends are headed down to the Wattsull Inn this coming weekend. Rain chances are high but forecast changes every 10 minutes so I'll wait until Thursday to make a decision.
Looking forward to riding the Va/Wv mountains again.

I would love to come down, but my summer is booked. I got a nice GPS file for a ride to Marlinton WV the Greenbrier Grill. If you want it.

Please send it, I've been looking at the best mountain ride to Marlinton and there are several ways to get there, all look great. Last year, I took one way over and a different way back. Such great roads

Re: 2018 BRPR May 17th - May 20th

Had a great ride as always! Took the entire Skyline drive on the way down, was exciting with the bears being out and about. Exciting, especially when tourists decide to stop in the road, on both sides to watch the bears.....Thank god for ABS. Even more exciting when a car in the oncoming lane decides to stop to watch a deer that's on my side and the deer decides the time to run across is almost exactly when I'm there. A near miss is far better than a direct hit.

The ride to Marlinton was fun and uneventful, was being chased by rain all day and we won. The Angel GT's are very sticky in wet and dry roads. Met some interesting locals and due to the 2 couples with me on their HD's, I had to slow WAYYYYY down.

The Foot of the Mountain restaurant was better than last year, they have done an excellent job with it and even remembered us.

The owner of the Wattsull Inn came over to chat, he showed us his new 700+ HP Mustang that he's playing with. They've been too busy with the 200 things that have going on to race the dirt track car this year. I guess busy is a good thing sometimes.

So, on a rainy weekend, we managed to put in several hundred miles of riding in and around Buchanan. Got home just in time for more rain!
