Please help ID this brake piston?

Greetings oh wise-riders,
My 08 K1200GT's brake-handle has taken to collapsing all the way down. First change was to replace the piston, since they don't sell the seals anymore.



But lo and behold: my piston and master cylinder are nowhere to be found on any fiche. The cast-in part number is <32 72> 7 699 997 (I've added the <prefix>.) The slotted piston is nowhere to be found in anything K, or R, 2000-2010 as far as I can tell by trolling the Max BMW parts fiche. I'd be eternally grateful if you could ID it before I go down the dark road of hoping an EBay replacement will work.

Above shows what should be in your 08 GT brake handle assembly. Some earlier models (R1100R) show a small screw in the brake housing that could engage a antirotation slot.

Simply call MAX parts, they are always glad to help.

I'm working with my local dealer (Richfield BMW) because they deserve the patronage: Josh (parts) discovered just how weird this master cylinder is. The owner is getting involved, consulting some insiders he knows.



The slot is not an "anti-rotation" slot, it's the retainer. There's no circlip at the end of the cylinder, that short rod goes through the cylinder and piston, and is held in place from above by the star-clip on a cast post. This is the oddest master cylinder I've seen having trolled R's & K's +/-5 years on MAXBMW's parts fiche.


I'm gun-shy about buying an ebay-special for fear of ending up right where I am now: a piston that cannot be replaced/refreshed. So I'm waiting for Josh+boss to see what they come up with. I was hoping here for some data regarding what I have to avoid obvious toe-stubbing.
