Offering The Use Of My GS-911

To anyone out there that resides in the Metro Vancouver area, I would be glad to lend the use of my GS -911 dianostic tool should you want to reset a reminder or check a particular condition on your machine.
As the tool will be idle most of the time, I thought it would be prudent to get more use out of it by offering it to other owners in the area.
Regards, Monty
PS It is a laptop use only model and I am using it on a 07, KGT

Re: Offering The Use Of My GS-911

That's why I like this site, people willing to help others. If I was closer I would be happy to pay a small fee for the ability to reset service reminders without the dealer.

If anyone around Cinci could help me out I would sure appreciate it. If not I will have to cough up $300

Re: Offering The Use Of My GS-911

Is that you offering the use of a GS911 on Vancouver's Craigslist? Not free but.....good idea.

I now travel with mine....just maybe in case I meet someone in need.

Re: Offering The Use Of My GS-911

What a generous offer!

I own a GS-911, but not the "professional" account, so I am limited to 10 BMW motorcycles. It still permits some "emergency" capabilities for helping others with on-the-road assistance, but I am not clear about what can and cannot be done without adding a VIN to my 10-limit list.

Could someone please elaborate on what I can and cannot do to assist someone without adding a VIN to my limited list? Thanks.

I'm not on Craigslist. I just thought it would be good to share the use of the device as there aren't a whole lot of BMWs around, even in the Vancouver area.
Safe travels,
Monty

I asked one of the guys from Hexcode this summer and it sounds like resetting the service reminder is the only thing that adds a VIN.
When I did our bikes it asked me if I wanted to add the VIN before I proceeded.

Re: Offering The Use Of My GS-911

Hi Monty;
If you are still offering the use of the tool I will be more than willing to pay a small fee or fill up your tank? I started doing my own basic repairs and maintenance. Would like to hook up the gs911 to see if everything checks out ok after changing plugs recently on my F650GS twin.
No need to reset the service reminder, I'll get the shop to do that on the 60, 80, 100k levels. If you cant that's fine. Ride Safe.

Re: Offering The Use Of My GS-911

You are more than welcome to use the device. First off, I would assume that you are in the Vancouver Area? If so, a friend currently has the GS-911 and he no longer needs it as he sold his KGT (He's had the device for a year or so). That said, you could pick it up from him or I will get it from him when I'm next in downtown Vancouver. My friend works in a restaurant in Yaletown.
Let me know what you would like to do.
You can use the device for free.
Regards, Monty

Re: Offering The Use Of My GS-911

It's a small world we live in. I'm located in Yaletown. Thank you again. I'll pm you my full details should you need to hunt me down but that won't happen. I could probably have it back to him the same day if on a weekend.
